I don't think people get sacked because of their background stories. It's to do with their performance throughout.
And I don't see why it matters anyway since it's Sir Alan that decides. And btw, Lorraine got a back story too

I think all Debra needs are some softer sides, but she was formed from her early years. What I liked was her mother was interested in her when she was young, and that can't be said of other kids, who might not have had parent, or their parents don't care that much. I like Debra as she stands up for herself.

Debra is getting a positive for selling and drive. Not busness sense though. Kate and Philip and her boss have just written her reference.
Wouldn't be at all surprised by Yasmina and Debra or either of them and Kate in the last two. There's no real reason to get rid of Yasmina or Kate so he may have to invent one that doesn't exist.
