Perfect and faultless - used as a negative?
Ethereal

I'm sorry but if the best they can do is say Kate is too perfect, faultless and composed then she deserves to win.

It is by no means a bad thing to know how to adapt to situations and be composed when dealing with important clients. Kate does have a personality and plenty of passion but she knows when to reel it in in important situations.

Any thoughts? Think Sir Alan was too harsh on her or is being too controlled a bad thing?

I think to be honest they couldn't really find any negatives and she was always going to be in the final so they just made her strength a negative.

Being too controlled is a bad thing if you're dealing with a customer, as the customer will sense it, and customers need to feel comfortable, but they won't be with Kate, if she holds that control in. Kate could lose SA customers.

If Kate knows how to control, then she must know how to be natural too, as you can't have one without the other.

They always have to find something negative to pick at even with the best of candidates, just for the sake of balancing things out and to keep you guessing whether they're going to be fired or not. I don't think there's anything wrong with Kate or Yasmina but they managed to pick at one negative for each of them.

I thought it was harsh to say she's robotic and has no personality. If anything, I think she's the opposite - she's very bubbly and I think she'd be great at building relationships in business. She's obviously great at interacting with other people, it's one of her strengths that sets her above the rest.

That was quute funny , and if she had gotten fired on that basis it's would've been ridiculous.

I can't believe that one of my favs will win for a change (although I didn't dislike any of the previous winners)

I thought Kate came off incredibly unlikeable in this ep. I've mostly liked her so far but her interview persona actually creeps me out. So even if they were just saying that to find fault, I still agree with them.

Ugh, the way she fake-giggled as soon as Sir Alan suggested she was humorless. *wraps arms around self and shivers*

I can't imagine big clients being put off by someone in control though, especially if they are going to invest a lot of money or purchase lots of products from her. She is extremely professional which I don't see is a bad thing.

I think Kate has shown she is natural too by looking at some of the other tasks. When she was selling on the streets she knew how to talk to customers who bought from her and she didn't come across scripted at all. I think she knows how to adapt to certain situations and she is totally different in important meetings/interviews compared to when she was on the streets selling.

Also, when she was project manager for the cereal task, she was really creative when brainstorming ideas and when filming the advert and again, totally different to the more 'robotic' side seen tonight.

I'm still in shock. The two I liked best in the final.

But not much of her bubbly personality was seen, and she's always very robotic in Interviews, and it shows how controlled she is, and she did say she uses control. But to be too conrolled isn't a good thing, not in business when dealing with people.

Me too. Stark contrast to last year where I didn't like any of the finalists - and there were 4 last year! My favourites usually get fired for some unfair, obscure, fabricated reason - this is too good to be true.

I think that she deserves to be in the final, not too worried which of the two wins, but I really agree with you about the creepy aspect when it came to the fake giggle. It's a bit of a catch 22 for someone able to be as controlled as Kate. It is a good thing in that it allows you to give a polished set of answers and say what you need to say clearly, but at the same time it leaves your interviewer wondering if all that they are seeing is a persona.

Mostly though they had to say something negative or we'd all be well aware that Kate was actually walking it and that was all that they could come up with.

Yeah, I thought that too. If sirallan had really considered it a problem she would not be in the final.

But we've seen that Kate is excellent at dealing with people in business, whether she's selling to the public or pitching to a group of experts.

Even the most self-controlled, self-disciplined people might have been caught off their guard in situations like Q&As - but we've seen that Kate has always been prepared for any question given to her when she has pitched for the team.

I can understand anyone being robotic for the interviews. Anyone who's watched this show before knows that the interviewers tear you to shreds just for the sake of it, you have to be on your guard. They couldn't find anything bad about Kate, and if they did they would have clinged on to that 1 negative point. So instead they slated her for not being able to find anything bad to say about her.

I like Kate and think it would have been ridiculous if she hadn't made the final, however, I agree with this.
