There are several moments that have made me go "Wow" in DW over the past few years, but one that really sticks with me is the Earth being towed home in Journey's End.

When written on paper it probably sounds like one of the worst ideas ever, and just a childish way of tying up the loose ends of the plot, but on screen it is probably one of the best moments of the show since it came back. The way everyone worked together in the TARDIS, the joy of returning home, and the joy of those on Earth at being returned. What really made that scene for me though was the music - Murray Gold at his absolute best. That music really brought a lot of strength and emotion to the scene, and it's one that I will not forget in a hurry.

Is that all? Are you sure?

So many good moments in there!

The revelation of the Master is quality.

Do like the more jolting "wow" elements. For example, when the second episode of S4 turned from Carry On Up Pompeii to a much more chilling episode when the soothsayers started to go into details about the Doctor and Donna.

Also love the moment that the Doctor becomes helpless in Midnight. You rarely feel the Doctor is in a great deal of danger himself but when they are dragging him to the airlock....

Oh and pretty much everything about Blink.

Blink is really really cleverly written. DT and Freema only filmed four brief stints for that 45 mins, but their presence was felt throughout because one of the stints was repeated endlessly Its brilliant.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, please forgive me if someone did and I missed it.

The TARDIS flying in the Runaway Bride.

The Satan Pit when the Doctor drops. I honestly thought there'd be contact from the station *just* as he was about to release the last loop.

Gobsmacked, I was!

When Mickey smith turned around in Army of ghosts. Glad he was there. And he had changed actually grown with the path his life took.

Plus When Rose announced this is how i died same ep. I thought for once British TV might give us a real storyline. A little disheartened when she just landed in Pete's world.

Hehe, same here.

"Duane Dibley?! AHHHHHH!"

All she needed was a thermos flask and bowlcut

No wonder she refused to tell that UNIT Captain her name.

I totally agree about the effect Murray Gold's music had on that particular scene. Many of the other scenes mentioned in this thread were also enhanced by the music quality & I often listen to the cd soundtracks where the music can instantly bring to mind many of those stand-out scenes.
My personal favourite 'wow' scene is from the first series 'Dalek' episode when the 9th Doctor first realises that it is indeed a Dalek in the darkness. It may not seem as big a moment as many of the others and was obviously not a surprise to us viewers (the episode title rather gives the game away) but for the Doctor, who at that point believed all the Daleks gone with the Time Lords in the Time War, it was a momentous moment & the brief moment of panic as he banged on the door to get out believing he was about to be exterminated was superb.

I agree - both about the music and that scene. CE did such a wonderful job in this episode (well, in all of his episodes, but this one was a stand out for me.)

Not really a 'Wow' moment, more a 'OMFG!!1!!1!' one but for me, 'The Face of Boe, they used to call me!' remains the only moment in which I was absolutely gobsmacked. Brilliant.

Other than that, 'Everybody lives!!' has that wow factor for me still.

Jack kissing the Doctor in PotW made me sit up and take notice as well. But that was more just a really nice moment, rather than a 'wow' one.

HN/FoB had a really fantastic bit with the young boys shooting the scarecrows. The music as they wiped away tears was absolutely heartbreaking. One of the best moments from S3.

I can't single out a S4 moment really, because I loved every second that Donna was onscreen.

Doctor: "Yeah, well that world's gone"
Donna: "No, but she said it was all worlds. Every world. She said 'the darkness is coming, even here."
Doctor: "Who was she?" (I was like 'OMG!)
Donna: "I don't know"
Doctor: "What did she look like?"
Donna: "She was...blonde"
Doctor: "What was her name?" (I was like 'OMFG!!!!!!!')
Donna: "I don't know"
Doctor: "Donna, what was her name?"
Donna: "But she told me...to warn you...she said...two words..."
Doctor: "What two words? What were they? What did she say?"
Donna: "Bad Wolf"

Amazing amazing sequence until the end of the episode where the Dr and Donna run out and see Bad Wolf written everywhere, and brilliantly acted by Tennant and Catherine Tate too.

Probably my fav moment.

”

Aye, that's definitely one of the better moments, as is the opening of the fob watch and related scenes in Utopia.

Another of my favourite wow moments was just the single look when Sky Silvestry turns around to the other passengers after she has been possessed in Midnight. Good thing for the doctor that he was already wearing Brown trousers...
