wireless through stone?
I am trying to find a wireless phone system to enable users to talk via the intercom function to each other between 2 separate buildings with stone walls about 25 yards apart
does anyone know if there's anything on the market that can do this? I have been looking at the Dectsys 2200 system for which you can get a repeater but don't want to spend a few hundred pounds without knowing if its gonna be able to do the job any advice would be much appreciated |

There's alsolutely no way of knowing which kit will work in what circumstnaces without trying it. Everyone's layout is different. Most DECT phones (which have intercoms on them) claim an outside coverage of 300m and an inside coverage of 50m, so I would think they would work with what you're trying to do. You might need to try and few locations for the base station before you find an optimal position.

Welcome to the DSA forums baanliam.
Yes, as Appleseed says, the base station's location is the key. Remember the so-called intercom facility most DECT systems have is not handset to handset but is via the base station. If there's a way to get the base station up high and, possibly, beside a window, the better chance you have. |
