yes, we always freeze plastic bottles of milk when we go camping. keeps the beer cool in the ice chest and melts slowly giving you lovely fresh milk every day.

works at home too

It always taste slightly weird to me when it's been frozen, but it won't do you any harm.

I froze a 4-pint of semi-skimmed. It looks a funny yellow colour when frozen! It takes ages to thaw but don't leave it out on the side overnight or it will taste funny. Put it in the fridge when it starts thawing out.

I buy skimmed milk and always freeze it. The unfreezing is a bit of a pain though; takes ages.

I freeze semi skimmed and defrost it in a sink or bowl full of water which speeds up the process.

Make sure you give it a good shake before opening though as it tends to separate when frozen.

Also leave some space round it in your freezer as otherwise they have a habit of leaking.

I buy milk when it's reduced and freeze it.
