Flight attendents not air hostesses.

I like how the food is all little and compartmentalised.

I like their uniforms, their groomed appearance, and would like to take them to the little compartment at the back and join the mile high club.

I don't buy ready-meals BUT we get a takeaway once a week and set-meals (for 2, 3, 4 etc) are ALWAYS enough for at least double!

Maybe we just have generous takeaways around here

Mmmm... Indian tonight, I think

They should say: "serves 4, but only if your family happen to be lepricorns" ”

I always divide whatever it says by two.

I'm another one of the "cook double/triple batches" brigade, last thing i want to do after 9 hours at work is come home and cook a hearty meal from scratch. We eat homecooked most nights, Monday nights the kids have supernoodles though, sometimes i think its their favourites ungrateful little mongrels

Everyone knows that the 'serves 2' meals are only labelled like that so you don't look such a lonely git at the checkout. Which kinda negates the point, really...

Divide by 2 - or better still, cook your own from scratch.

I think salt reduction has a lot to do with it, it was the one thing that gave these meals flavour.

Then you have the problem of getting the recipe right. I've been going through a Madhur Jaffrey book lately and most of the recipies are for 4 so i've halved and even quartered some and still come out with a shit load of food, especially sauces.

I tried making naan breads and have cut down the recipe by 4 and still make 3 breads.

If a meal says it Serves 1 (say a curry or something else) it's usually fine for me.

I love home cooked Indian food too but it doesnt come out the same as Indian restaurant food.

What amuses me is those Mr Kipling cakes, like Victoria Sponge etc., which are supposed to serve 6 (I think). As if!! They obviously have never met my family

Also those ready-made novelty birthday cakes they sell in supermarkets. I was looking for one with my sister once, as a last-minute idea. We were in stitches, as they are really tiddly, and said serves 8!
