I got my sums wrong!

Academically though, had Everton won yesterday and were Liverpool to lose today; and then Spurs beat Manchester City on Wednesday, it would have been interesting to find out if Five Live and talkSPORT could trade the Spurs and City second picks for Liverpool and Everton. It is an interesting point and one that could become a factor in future seasons.

As it stands, it could possibly be quite a boring final day of the Premier League season should title, Champions League, Europa League and relegation issues all be sorted out if results go a certain way.

Blackpool v Bristol City: Ian Chisnall & Andy Morrell (FM/DAB Commentary)
Reading v Preston: Phil Cunliffe & Steve Cowell (Updates)
Lancashire v Glamorgan Cricket: Scott Reid & Andy Hayhurst (855AM/Online Commentary)

BBC Lancashire would normally go with commentary of the away team but obviously a big game for Blackpool on the final day trying to seal a play off place.

BBC Merseyside
Liverpool v Chelsea: Mike Hughes & Jimmy Case

City Sport
Liverpool v Chelsea: Steve Hothersall & Jan Molby

Drogba crying on the floor inside 5 minutes. Jan says "if I was a centre half I'd just give Drogba a good kicking, cause he'll go down anyway, just put the boot into him!"

Sunday 2nd May - BBC WM

Daz Hale presenting WM Sport from The Mailbox

Championship
West Bromwich Albion v Barnsley - Tom Marlow

It's a three hour music and updates show this afternoon, with a phone-in in the final hour.

To close out the season, WM are doing commentary on Villa's youth team in their FA Youth Cup Final Second Leg at Chelsea on Tuesday and Walsall v MK Dons on Saturday.

I guess they'll do commentary on one of the Birmingham clubs on FM next Sunday (it surely would have been Villa before their UCL hopes were ended yesterday), as it will allow them to put the other team's commentary on DAB in Birmingham with Wolves on DAB in Wolverhampton.

On Football First Extra today, Adrian was joined by Ray Houghton, who stayed on at Anfield to do the first hour, and then Chris Davies (the Telegraph journalist who is usually Jeremy Kyle's Sunday co-host) from 5-7pm.

Also, I should stop guessing at these cricket reporters. This afternoon's newsreader Ian Beach (the Today FM commentator) did studio-based reports on India v South Africa, although as stated Big Jack B is covering Australia v Pakistan.

EDIT: Confirmation on talkSPORT just now (7.30pm) that Manchester United v Stoke City will be the commentary game next Sunday.

That is completely incorrect. They had Simon Mann at Kenilworth Rd (not sure if anyone was at Oxford).

They have full commentary on the B'burn game on now. Their schedule also had Wigan game down but I wasn't around to hear that.

Monday 3rd May - BBC Five Live Sports Extra

FA Women's Cup Final
Arsenal Ladies v Everton Ladies - Jacqui Oatley and Steve Froggatt (commentary)

I don't think they had a separate presenter from the commentary team.

I only caught a little bit of their coverage on Sports Extra, I tuned in momentarily after the 90 minutes were up, at which point Jacqui was chatting about how she'd said to a fan before the game that she felt it would be 2-2 on 90 minutes, with Everton winning 3-2 after extra time. Bet she regrets not putting a bet on now!

Additionally, Andrew McKenna was doing studio-based reports on the earlier Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe fixture in the World Twenty20 cricket.

A few days into the tournament and the pattern seems to be that the afternoon sports newsreaders also get to report on the day's earlier game, with regular cricket correspondent Jack Bannister taking up the reigns for the later game. The only exception being on Friday when Jack did both games, when each took place in the evening.

For anyone wondering, talkSPORT's reports on the football and cricket came during what was effectively their normal weekday schedule. Seems like Bank Holiday Monday doesn't apply if you work as a presenter at talkSPORT Towers.

Mark Chapman will present this Saturday's 5Live Sport, comm on B'pool vs Forest and then at 3, coverage of L1/L2 final games, no commentary announced yet but I'd put my life savings on them being at Elland Road. Then, Steve Claridge is on 606, oh dear God.

Mark Pougatch is doing Sunday's program with F1 instead of the CCC PO and then at 4, Chelsea vs Wigan. Alan Green is doing 606 on Sunday.

Roddy Forsyth is one of those comms/reporters that take me back to my childhood.

There's probably only him and Green/Ingham that are around from my early radio listening days

Aye Roddy has been there since 1986 I think. There was a fella called David Francey before him, he had a good turn of phrase too. I think Mike Ingham used to cover the Scotland games with him

I go all the way back to Peter Thompson on the Scottish Home Service in the fifties and sixties although later there was a gentleman called Derek Rae on BBC Radio Scotland. There was Bob Crampsey as well, although he may have been on Radio Clyde in the seventies. Douglas Lowe is another name that rings a slight bell.
