Yes, I put it down like that (RW commentator in the 80s etc...) as I confused myself with a Grahame Lloyd who now does Rugby League commentaries as well for BBC Humberside - and are the same person. Can't say I've heard GL on Radio Wales this season, as it's mostly been Ian Beddow or the franky awful Ian Hunt.

“Richard Shepherd was one of the main commentators on Cardiff City in the 1980s on Radio Wales. He must be approaching retirement age by now, but he also commentated on Real Radio following Phil's sacking, and also has a decent track record in print journalism and book writing.”
He still does commentatries for the CCFC Website
There's a photo of him via twitpic (and loooking as slim as ever

) at Wembley somewhere.

“You mention Gary Bell- is this the same Gary Bell who played for Cardiff City in the 1970s, who ended up being Phil's co-commentator on Real Radio, before being sacked at the same time as him?
Phil and Gary renewed their partnership for the Cardiff City website when they began commentary, but Phil's health soon began to deteriorate and he sounded out of breath quite a lot towards the end. It was very sad really because he was brilliant at his peak.”
Don't think so, when Lisa was interviewing him all I can remember of it is that he had to come from Los Angeles to attend the match.
If Cardiff City had got to the Premier League, I wonder what would've happened with commentaries - as I'm sure Real Radio would be interested in maybe picking up secondary rights of some kind, and whether Radio Cymru would do a FM/DAB split?
