Is Karl Harrison, some ex-rugby guy, would prefer Phil Hay from YEP. Though listening to full match comm on Bates Radio.

Thom Kirwin off Bates Radio referred to speaking to Accrington media as a colleague can't see how as prob works for BBC Lancs.

BBC Radio Five Live

Birmingham v Blackburn Mike Sewell
Bolton v West Ham Arlo White (host) and Conor McNamara
Man Utd v Wolves John Murray, Alan Green and Jimmy Armfield (commentary)
Sunderland v Aston Villa Peter Slater
Dundee United v Rangers Roddy Forsyth

BBC London 94.9

Bolton v West Ham Nick Godwin and Clive Walker (commentary)
(Phil Parry and Clive Walker commentated on Monday for WBA v QPR)

With regard to London coverage, BBC London 94.9 seems to offer coverage of London football concentrating on Chelsea and West Ham with occasional coverage of Tottenham and (slightly) Fulham. There seems to be no local radio coverage anywhere of Arsenal. The Capital Gold and LBC coverage seems a long time ago sadly. (BBC London does a great job of local football coverage here in the capital.)

EDIT Sorry, shaun_d, just noticed your Five Live details.

It says on the main page that bbisaddictive is the last person to post something on this thread but on the thread itself, his post isn't there. Hmmm.

EDIT: I can see it now.

I take it no-one listened in for the Orion commentaries earlier in the week.

Tom Ross and Tony Brown most likely did the West Brom game on Beacon and Gold but I have no idea who would have done Tuesday's games. The podcasts haven't been uploaded yet, but I will post the commentary details if I can once they are.

Friday 18th December - UEFA Champions League & UEFA Europa League Knockout Stage Draw

talkSPORT - Mike Bovill
BBC Five Live - Nigel Adderley (from Nyon apparently)

talkSPORT will be pleased with Chelsea's tie with Inter Milan in the Champions League, perhaps less so with Liverpool v Unirea in the Europa League (should they have rights to it).

It's interesting to note that, due to Inter and AC Milan both playing at home first in their second round ties, Inter v Chelsea will be played a week later than the other first leg games. This means both talkSPORT and Five Live could potentially offer commentaries on all three first leg matches of the Champions League ties involving the English teams should they secure the rights to them.

The games were always due to be held over 2 weeks per leg, so the English sides will always play on different days in this round.

Thanks for posting that Richard - I must admit that change to the Champions League format slipped beneath my radar.

Also, thanks to everyone who filled me in with the details of the football commentary situation in London.

BBC London do a fine job from the little I've heard, but even so it's a shame the capital doesn't have any kind of commercial alternative.

Moving onto today, and have you heard from commentators/reporters who were intended to be at games which have been postponed on the stations you listen to?

So far on talkSPORT they crossed over to Roger Hughes, who was investigating into why the Cardiff v Leicester game he was due to report on was called off.
