Oh, and FC - does every other star answer every single letter they receive?

I just love how people see a story, jump on it and twist it so that they attack someone they seem to clearly dislike. The fact that there may be no evidence to back up their comments doesn't matter.

Basically, the story seems to be that bags of letters were to be disposed of and it was done badly. That's it.

I would ask those that made the accusation of unopened mail to provide source for the "unopened" or admit they were wrong. I would also like those who used it to attack the lad to say oops, went a bit far there. I will not hold my breath however!

For the record - I thought he was OK , entertained me for a few minutes. Not given him much thought since then.”

I'm sure it said it wasn't opened yesterday (hence people saying it) the BBC must have edited it or it was another site which said it was unopened.

As for replying, if he gets enough surely he'd have a letter printed off just saying "thanks for the mail" or something which he'd just sign and return, takes about a minute or two. That covers all the "Hi George OMG i fink u r so fit" from teenage girls and anything more complicated he can reply to more personally, again, only a few minutes really isn't it? And these people did vote for him and make him where he is, so it's not especially grateful not to reply to them!

So, every single letter that is ever sent is received? It is not possible that with the volume of mail received that mistakes can happen? Replies not sent in error?

It is the way that it is assumed that the fans were being delibrately "ignored" or "slapped in the face" that irritate me. Has this ever been raised before? Have we had hundreds of young girls sobbing in the media because that nasty swine George is ignoring them "coz hes famous now like". No, but we do have a group of people who are willing to jump all over him over one story because they either don't like him or think he is getting too big for his boots. Rather childish IMO.

To be honest, I doubt there's going to be very much more fanmail for this boy. There was a half-hearted attempt to launch some kind of career for him a few months ago, but it came to nothing.

Back to school, and back to obscurity.

Anyone who wants to stay in the game would employ someone to deal with a large amount of fan mail.

From the echo

GEORGE Sampson’s mum today denied dumping her son’s fan mail.

Lesley Sampson was accused of leaving 15 bags of the dancing star’s letters outside her home in Lyster Close, Warrington.

A warrant was issued for her arrest after she failed to turn up at Warrington magistrates' court.

She was accused of fly-tipping under the Environmental Protection Act.

A spokesman from Simon Cowell’s label SyCo, which represents George, rubbished the allegations.

Russell Eslamifar said: “Lesley has been living in London the past year. She was unaware of what happened in Warrington and hasn’t even got the [summons] letter yet.

“The ‘rubbish’ that is left outside her Warrington home is usually rummaged by fans and taken away by them.

“Lesley has not dumped any of the fans’ mail to George.”

Oh shuuuuush everyone. If I got 1000's of letters I would probably ignore most and like someone up there said, perhaps he had already opened. Either way, he has other things to do like education/social life/work. He doesn't have time to personally reply to all the mail he gets.
