I changed batteries in my remote a few days ago.
It worked a bit more forcefully in most ways BUT I cannot access BBC teletext.
I can still access it on an emasculated $ly+ box.So its not the BBC's fault.
Anyone else seen/cured the problem ?

I've had this. Can you get teletext channel on 986 or is it just a blank screen?

If it's just a blank screen then the interactive/MHEG services have crashed/not being decoded. Putting it into standby so it powers down completely or doing a complete power cycle (via the on/off switch on the back) should restore services.

Thanks Richard,
Ch 986 was useless!
Off---10 seconds--On, cured it.

It's weird beause I've now had this happen twice over a period of a couple of weeks - however it had been fine over the previous 7 or so months.

Not a big problem just annoying (especially if you are recording something and want the Sports multiscreens).

Can't remember anyone ever reporting this problem in any thread concerning bugs with the Humax HDR. Anyone else ever had this problem?

I wonder if the BBCi team have changed something over the past couple of weeks in the MHEG code which occassionally crashes/locks up the interactive/MHEG system?

Ch 986 teletext was lost then fixed as well, which isnt BBC derived.
I am not 100% certain but I think I first lost text on ch 200 then later on ch 101 & 102.

Just lost MHEG and Interactive servcies again however before losing services I noted the following.

Channel 986 was working (i.e. showing the front MHEG screen) and Press Red prompts appearing on the BBC family of channels.

Lots of channel hopping and a few minutes later return to BBC One and notice that the Press Red prompts were not appearing. Checked the other BBC channels and exactly the same. Switched to channel 986 and no MHEG front end just a blank screen.

Power cycled and all services restored. So it definitely looks like some sort of bug in the HDR firmware. Anyone else care to experiment to see if they can replicate?
