Hi

Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this today or in the past.

Scheduled programmes for today:

BBC1 2000-2030
BBC1 2030 - 2130
ITV 1 1930 - 2000
ITV1 2100-2200

Box set to ITV1 and was never changed.

Whilst watching ITV1 from 1930 until 2200 none of the scheduled recodrings for BB1 started.

The 2000 recording never even fired up, no file in the media menu and the programme is still sat in the schedule menu.

The 2030 recording never started, programme in the schedule still but this time a file was created in the media menu but showed as a failed recording.

ITV recorded everything and created files in appropriate places/menus.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with your 2nd feed

Have you checked your signal levels ?

I know today I had it set for series link Gardeners world and it was definitely set for record in EPG yet it didnt record, I checked on the setup for scheduled recording and it was set in there. This also happened last week but not week before as it was Chelsea flower show

I also missed that David Attenborough program too a few nights back again failed recording

I just checked setup and both tuners are at 100% all time. I tried to recording on different channels to see if it works and they do and I can play a 3rd channel

I also had no problems with other programs like the apprentice and gadget show

If the 20:00 prog was Eastenders, then it did not even start recording on the HDR tonight, here.

It recorded OK on Freeview, so I presume the AR start signal did not happen on Freesat.

Just one of those things.

I have had exactly the same failed recordings, this must be a BBC Issue on Freesat. It does make me wonder if it would be worth switching to the early/late recording option even though I know this won't catch moved progs.

I had noticed yesterday that the Freesat EPG for BBC2 was not updating frequently enough.

I saw it, as a programme I had been following, "Put your money where your mouth is", had been moving due to the Tennis/Racing, and one day this week was not shown at all. Yesterday, even just before the show, it had the racing running right up to the next prog "Escape to the Country", and so did not record.

The Freeview EPG had updated and showed the rescheduled PYMWYMI prog, and correctly recorded it.

I wonder if BBC were having problems with their Freesat EPG updates/AR signals generally?

Rgds.

Whatever it was, must have been sorted by 22:35, as Jonathan Ross recorded OK on BBC HD.

Unusual, don't have too many problems with BBC generally.

Signal levels were all correct and no different to normal. Could possibly be a problem with BBC and signalling but like has already been stated it is very unusual. (I would not be posting on here if my ITV timers had failed!)

As for coopermanyorks comment "old thompson box by any chance", unlikely if I am posting in the freesat+ section when there is only 1 box on the market and it aint manufactured by freesat! Had one too many down the pub!!!

Anyway, thanks for the comments, might be an idea to keep this one going to see if any other problems occur.

I can also confirm that Gardener's World (HD) did not record and neither did the 20:30 BBC1 programme (Apprentice:Why I Fired Them).

Looks like the Beeb had a system failure.

Yeah I have had quite a few non-recordings recently, and thinking about it they have mostly (if not entirely) been on BBC HD.

If this is a BBC issue someone should fix it quick. What with Freezes on the box every other day and non-recordings Freesat is beginning irritate me badly now and I am likely to utter a few swear words - like "SKY HD".

Perhaps if you pay nought you get nought. I have no wish to go back to SKY for my HD, ( I would be paying £30 plus a month for very little) but like others who have posted earlier in this thread I have missed programmes I really wanted to watch.

Friday's issues appear to be due to rescheduling due to Election on BBC1 (also affecting BBC HD schedule), and Racing on BBC2; then good ol' Auntie Beeb getting its wotsits in a twist with updating the EPG & AR signals to cope with the rescheduling, until about 22:30.

Excellent. I got the blame for missed recordings last night. I may be calling you as a witness for the defence.

Also see my post #14.

If you need further representation, my fees as expert witness are very reasonable
