digital optical out problem
Hi I hope someone can help me with this annoying problem.
yesterday I purchased a sony blue ray player BDPS350...when I conect the optical out lead direct to my amp I get sound however when I conect both sky box and blueray to amp using a splitter I get no sound at all. I have tried all leads independantly even one lead into the splitter direct to amp and all is good. its just when I try conecting sky box and dvd to amp I get no sound. if anyone can help me with this problem I would be most greatful. many thanks in advance Mark |

You obviously can't use a 'splitter' to join two signals together (it's to feed one source to two destinations), you would need a 'combiner' - but such a thing isn't possible, use an optical 'switch' instead.

There are some devices that are splitters/switchers - the 2way HERE can be used in either application, is this what you are using?
When using this device as a switch you can only have one device on at any one time. Be aware - If you have a Pace HD box the optical is live even when the Box is in standby. You would be better off buying a 3way. http://www.astarsolutions.co.uk/prod...&source=search |
