Samsung
Sony Ericsson

Please help me here! I am looking to get a new phone once i get rid of 3 and i have narrowed it down to these two. I have had 2 SE in the past and they have been great (K750i and K800i) but i know their recent phones have been really buggy and slow.

On the other hand, i have had no experience with Samsung but know they make damn good electronics. Also, this phone seems to be a very good rival to the C905 and is newer.

C905 has WiFi, while the Tocco doesn't but i have an iPod for that. The C905 has the better camera - just - but i have heard it is buggy. The C905 reportedly has shoddy buildsmanship too.
The Tocco has a touch screen which i have gotten used to on my 3 phone. It also has a million and 1 widgets. It has a much better, and bigger, screen than the C905 too. It can also handle a lot more memory. Tocco also is available in Red or Blue (I cannot make my mind up which is nicer! If the Red is Pinky in colour i will go for Blue though)

Please tell me what is the better phone as, at the end of the day, i am prepared to get either.

Avoid the C905 like the plague, we must book at least 10 a week in for repair

I had a look at the W995 actually, but i don't like the look of the buttons and the camera gets a bad write up. It's basically a poor mans C905 with music and a few fancy games.

Been having a look at the Tocco Ultra on YouTube and i have to say it looks great. The C905 just seems to be the K800i in a new shell with a better camera.

I will not use features like WiFi or SatNav (as i don't own a car yet). I have a bunch of internet features on my current Viewty i have never used.

I am for the Ultra atm as it has the touch screen and looks very slick, has a great screen and is quite small.

I've got a K800i and I'm sticking with it now I'm dumping Three for having stopped "Three Like Home"

This is the reason i'm on the look out. I have just ditched Three after 2 years of dodgy bills and service as of 10mins ago.

I've never felt better!

Ended up going for the Samsung. It just has something the SE doesn't - i also fancy a change. As nice as the C905 is it is still a 5 year old system in a new body with a better camera.

Having had a Samsung P2 mp3 player before i know that Samsung make damn good electronics and i am hoping this phone is no difference. I guess i'll find out tomorrow morning eh?

Just thought i'd say how great the Samsung Mobile software is! Shame none of the other companies put so much thought into theirs.

It's just great and is based round a widget type system with different sections relating to different things. You can even have your own customisable "Stage" with backgrounds and widgets and what not.

Really really impressed so far

I've found the Samsung to be very slow, it irritated me when using it; and the onscreen keyboard is a joke, even the hardware keypad is fiddly at times.
I hope your plan will have a data allowance included because those widgets will need to connect to the 'net at some point if you're going to make full use of the phone!

Surprised to hear that.

C905 is a 2008 model the W995 is the very latest walkman. Feature wise the W995 is better 8GB memory, smaller in size yet bigger screen. Better slide and keypad.

I have a C905 and it's broke three times I'm considering ditching it for the W995.

I wouldn't go for the Tocco Ultra.

So is the W995 actually better than C905? I'd be interested to hear anybody who's gone between those models.

I have the Tocco Ultra and I think it's great except maybe the battery is a bit crap.
The phone itself is good though

I was gonna buy the C905 but heard too many bad things about it freezing, buttons breaking, ear piece going after two weeks and other things so was put off by it.
Head alot of good things about the W995 though and I had a little play with it and seems really good. Easy to use too.
Haven't had the C902 that long and already a couple of buttons have broke, it freezes and turns itself off, won't charge properly and has deleted some pics/videos of mine.

It isn't that it is a crap phone per say, it is just that it is basically a rehash of the C905 (and every other SE phone) in a new body with added music function. As for the screen, the extra 0.2inches isn't going to make that much of a difference.

The camera, as to be expected, is far from great but as it is a music orientated phone it is to be expected. The cameras on the W series have never been good - hell, auto focus has only just been introduced!

I would have gone for the C905, but i fancied a change and i have heard nothing but bad things about it, and other new SE phones. I know that recent SE phones have been extremely buggy and their build quality is questionable aswell. The K850i and C902 are examples of this.

Well it arrived. Verdict: It's pretty nifty but going to take some getting used to.

One thing: How do you change the font size! It's a tad big for my liking.

I ended up going for the Tocco Ultra and I'm really pleased I did. It reminds me alot of the Samsung mp3 player I used to have.
The phone itself is a great piece of kit. The only thing that let's it down is the shabby battery - 850mAh...
The best things about it are the brilliant AMOLED screen and the camera. The widgets are a nice addition too.

So far loving it. The only annoying thing is it duplicates files when use use them for a ringtone or background. Minor gripe though.
The camera is amazing though - so much better than i thought it would be!Flower in the rain - 8.1MP

All in all, a feature packed, easy to use touch/keypad phone

HTC Magic is a very basic entry level Android phone. There is not much to talk about really.
If you want a decent camera phone i wouldn't advise this one.
