Will Posh make #1 this Sunday with her double-A side?

I think she deserves a #1, but I think people will buy other records simply to stop her getting it.

god i hope not.

never agree with the worst mimers getting good chart positions. if shes a singer she should sing.

also how much bloody promo has she done for it? all that about choosing ur favourite vid to watch on totp - do we really want to see either of them?

watched that beckham programme on itv2 last night (not my choice) and it seemed like a blatant advertising attempt for her single.

No more than any other high profile artist relaunching themselves. She's been away from music for almost 2 years.

It's only because of who she is you notice her promotion more.

The show was 'the Real Beckhams' meaning both of them, not the david beckham show.

No one can force you to watch something!

Someone has to hate VB quite a lot to simply buy another record simply to prevent her going to No. 1 !!

Not a fan of hers but I think the single will go top 5. 'Let your head Go' isn't that bad a track (I can't believe I said that!)

However, I think is was ludiocrus for the 'All New' TOTP to relentlessly plug her single virtually every week. But I blame the BBC for this, not Posh.

Andi Peters must have shares in 19 Management!

I think "Let Your Head Go" is a cracking pop song, and TBH, i don't think any of her singles have deserved the vitriol aimed at them - it's simply because it's Victoria that people seem to feel the need to slate it.

I'd love to see it go to Number One, just so she can at least hold her head high and show that she's had her moment just like the frankly godawful Geri and Mel B did, and to a lesser extent the success Emma and Mel C had with their solo careers.

The Real Beckhams was another cleverly-timed documentary (remember Victoria's Secrets which came out at the same time as her album?) - but i simply can't understand why people watch them and fail to see what an admirable mother and wife she is - i didn't like her and i hated David, but after seeing them as a couple and as parents, not to mention simply as people, i just can't comprehend HOW people can hate them so much. It seems very sad to me.

agree entirely eddie - sure its just pop nonsense, but its hardly been that bad for what it is. was *a mind of its own* the one where she was sort of wandering through the garden? a perfectly good pop song - i remember hearing it on the radio not knowing who it was and thinking it was a pretty decent tune.

and then it didn't get to number one, and her pop career lay in tatters. the world's gone mad i tell you.

also - as you say - i don't get why people hate her so much - whenever I've seen her interviewed, she's always come across surprisingly well, good humoured and sincere.

Yeah - but should a decent pop track make it to No 1, when the likes of REM, Kelis, Stacie Orrico, Craig David are out?

Not that i have anything against Emma Bunton, but she is so C-List it's beyond belief. Put her in the same box as Louise Redknapp. Not even in the same league.

at the end of the day talent deserves to be rewarded, that's why I hope VB never gets the No.1 she craves it would just be so satisfying that the massive hype machine behind her efforts (vote for which vid u like, endless chat shows, the awful doc's) still get outsold by a simple, beautiful, 3 week old song like Mad World.
P.S. don't get me started on Emma B, this woman must have the weakest voice in music history, every time she is on the telly I think the volume control has been tampered with, she just squeaks out a tune like some 5 year old at a school concert it is always (thankfully) bearly audible.

Smell the irony - Mad World would have got nowhere without getting put on a soundtrack as a favour for a friend, then picked up and playlisted relentlessly by the radio. Hype machine indeed...

I remember that one - it was on Parky. She warbled "My heart's got a mind of its own", my husband said "It must be the brains of the family then", and I missed the rest of the song laughing!

Fast Eddie, indeed you are a prick, I am writing this at 3.30 on new years day I may be p*ssed but at least I can tell the difference between a good song (mad world) & a total piss take, methinks you are being controversial for controversials sake. Are you saying in the cold light of day that V Beckham is more talented than Gary Jules?????
Do you really think that the vast majority that bought Mad world bought it "as a favour for a friend" or that they actually preferred it to anything else that what released at the time?????

Gary Jules didn't write the song but just covered it so he is on a par with V Beckham on that score. She might get to number 1 by default. She has a decent fan base and it is a slow release week. It depends really on many people are left to buy the current top 3 records.

If it wasn't for the whole "We Britons Loke Beckam" then Vic B would have flounced out - for sheer lake of talent - like Mel B did a good few years ago.

I mean have you seen her trying to dance in her video's. It's like watching your mother.

lol, it certainly is!

And its number three at the moment...............?????? Well my guess is that she's got her friends to buy loads of copies of the single. That way she can 'prove' that she's got what it takes.

I neither know nor care a great deal about the backstory of Mad World.

But I really doubt being put on the soundtrack (although not on the OST album) of an obscure, decent but overrated film helped Gary Jules shift so many units.

Yes - it did help that it featured heavily on playlists - but so was The Darkness for example.

PS

Just out of interest - how much airplay has VB received on radio? Because I haven't heard her a great deal.

She is really scrapping the barrel now, that is my opinion after seeing her videos. The appartantly "sexy" one where she rolling around on the bed is rubbish, and the other one is just as bad. She says she doesn't take herself seriously *hence the vid where her head is on a crows body* but why make such a going on if she isn't bothered.
And at the minute she is mega happy beating a poor Sophie Ellis Bextor song. Aim high does she?
