And Sarah Jane is at number 20!

What the hell is Janeway from Voyager doing on it at all!?

Because Janeway shook sci-fi ! You may not like her, but she is the first female captain in Star Trek to have her own show. Her character was superbly written : she was not a woman captain mimicking a man captain, she really was a female character with all the responsibilities.

The real question is : what is Megan Fox doing on that list ?

As a woman and a fan of sci-fi, I truly believe that this list was compiled by some fanboy who put in some women who truly shook sci-fi and added some of those lame sexy characters, pathetic excuses for women, or female characters he has a soft spot for.

So quite frankly... Even if I like Rose... How did she shook sci-fi ? Worse : how did she shook sci-fi enough to be #7 above Uhura ?

That site presents its list as a definitive list, but frankly it is more than debatable.
"25 female character in sci-fi I like" would have been more realistic a term !

There are quite a lot of characters/actors I really admire in there, but have to agree that I don't know how Megan Fox came to be on the list... A woman who shook sci-fi..?

OK, I can't get "Marina, Aqua Marina..." out of my head now! Help me!

Shia laBoeuf is the human star of Transformers, Megan Fox is just the eye candy! So I agree - bad choice there. But Colonel Sam Carter (Stargate) and Star Trek's Lt Uhura definitely deserve to be on that list - Uhura for example was the first black woman in a lead role which wasn't a black stereotype, while Carter combines brains and brawn, and was on screen for an incredible 11 years!

EDIT: Just found another thread on the same topic...
