We use surnames when the cats are being cheeky too. My mum's another one for using the "mum/dad" when talking to the cats. When my dad gets home she'll say "daddy's home!" but I think that's mostly in jest...I hope...

My OH and I have just adopted a new kitten. He's a Norwegian Forest so we called him Loki after the Norse god of mischief/trickery. I also liked the name Morten (after the lead singer of Aha!) so we've called him Loki Morten [Surname]. His housemate, Mork, has a middle name too as he had a Turkish breed name to begin with. I can never remember it, but his full name is something like Mork Fahrat [Surname].

I'm so cruel/sad”

Love the name, Morten...another Aha fan here.
You're not cruel/sad but just as crackers as the rest of us

My mum does with the dog, no one else in the house does though. We all think shes mad for doing it!

Our cats all have middle names - when we're really mad at them, they get called by their first and middle names, like "Timothy James, you messy little sod", etc. Don't know why we started doing that, it's a bit embarrassing!

I love it when the vet calls out my hamster's name + my surname.

Although to be honest, whenever I take a hammie to the vet it usually doesn't come back.

My cats are called Gibson Les Paul (our surname) and leopold "butters" Stoch (our surname) they get the full name treatment if they have done something naughty which in Gibson's case is pretty often but otherwise it's just Butters and Gibson
