Why is it so difficult for ITV HD to get the start and end information right? I just watched the Stephen Tompkinson's African Balloon Adventure, perfect nothing missing from the beginning or end, even got all the end credits so it can be done, next up straight after was Kingdom and the end was missing, must has missed at least 1 minute, I ask someone who watched it until the end and there were at least 3 more scenes which wrapped the story up, Kingdom was the last HD programme on Sunday so I dunno why they can't add on a few mow minutes.

You'd think ITV would want you to watch past the end credits to the subsequent advertisements.

Another triumph for Accurate Recording?

Try setting before and after padding - it solves thes type of problems!

Unfortunately that doesn't help with news breaks and they're the worst offenders for stopping the recording before the programme has ended and starting after its restarted.

Yes padding does normally sort this problem but I thought when I tried this once with ITV HD the recording dropped into SD, maybe it was my error at the time, has anyone else noticed this quirk if you pad a ITV HD programme?

Not in the case of ITV HD. When I have used it .The box only records what is broadcast. ITV only broadcast the program, or most of it on HD. the adverts at the end are not broadcast. Just a blank screen.

I recorded Terminator 3 on Channel 5 a few weekends back, l started watching it, decided l was too tired to finish it and pressed the record button.

Went to watch the rest of it recently and found it had only recorded up until the C5 news break.

Drives me potty.

when recording programmes in this manner when there is a break in the schedule for things like the news you need to press the record button twice and then press the left and right cursor buttons to select the record duration otherwise the recording will only continue to the first break within the epg

It would be nice if there was a bit of Humax intelligence around this.

Never had this problem with BTvision+.

I had padding set and still lost the end of Kingdom, happened again this week. I wish they would sort this out.

Well it was about the only problem I didn't have with BT Vision. I have had three boxes, many lockups which produced non-recordings, plus frequent missing of the start of progs and end of progs. that is why they put in padding section which was not there at the beginning. Admittedly the cutting off progs is not as bad now as it was but it still happens from time to time.
