To cut a long story short, I only have 1 working BT socket which is in a bedroom. and have my main cordless phone and broadband connected to it.
I am shortly having Sky Multiroom installed in another bedroom. My main Sky box is downstairs but is not connected to a phone line.I know I will need a phone line for Multiroom, but will I need the main Sky box connected to a phone line, if so, do I need BT to do the job. or would the Sky installer do it?
My original phone socket was in the hall, and the Sky installer took the cable outside the house and joined it to make it reach the other side of the house using an ordinary bt connector which soon had rusty connections with all the rain.
Anyway I had a problem with my phone line a few months ago and ended up with the main BT socket upstairs, no extensions, without my main Sky box connected. I do have a old phone socket in the bedroom where the Sky box is going but that is dead, likewise the socket in the hall.Sorry for being so long winded but any help would be appreciated.

Although unusual , the master socket being in the
bedroom shouldnt be a problem
If you get Sky multi-room , Sky require you to have both
boxes connected to the phone line (so they can check
you havent taken the box and card to another property
thus getting Sky for £10 in another location)
The Sky installer should run the extension wiring from the
master socket to where ever the new socket needs to be,
a word of caution though, if you have broadband ,is to
make sure they wire up the socket in a broadband friendly
way otherwise your BB speed may suffer

And make sure they use an adsl line filter on the telephone connection of each sky box.
