New landline phone needed - recommendations?

Hi

I'm moving house and need a new landline phone. Nothing fancy, I just want to be able to have a wireless set (probably a twin) with an answering machine and the option for hands free if possible and for not too much extra cost.

The only other thing that is a requirement is that the speaker volume when using the phone (to ear) is actually decent - I've had BT phones before where the speaker volume was incredibly quiet and this annoyed the hell out of me.

Any recommendations?

Panasonic phones are best nice and loud and no hissing. Argos did have a offer on the colour screen ones.

I'll second that. Just replaced a 10-year old Panasonic Dect with a new one. Fixed the old one (dirty keypad) and much to my delight found I could slave it to the new base-set, using the old one as a charging station. Both excellent quality.
