What with Rumours flying about everywhere about weddings, Rose, Timothy Dalton, The Doctor's mother, The Master, The Rani, Donna and the Ood do we really know anything concrete about the finale?

Wilf is the Doctor's companion, someone knocks four times, Donna gets married (or just wears a wedding dress), it's very sad, something called The Gate opens, and the Doctor regenerates, or dies.

We know more about this than we do The Waters of Mars.

And how brilliant is it how little we know about these last specials!!!?

As said ..
-David Tennant cried while reading the last two parter script.
-RTD has mentioned about the Gate -
Spoiler
a epic explosion was filmed during the Waters of Mars filming -I think that might be the first sighting of the Gate ..

-
Spoiler
The music from FOTD as River Song died and from Midnight ..were played as Carmen made her dark predictions that so scared poor Ten in POTD.Clues or just beautiful appropriate music for that dark scene?

RTD has been very clever hinting at dream sequences I think -means the few scenes that have been leaked (that surely can't add up to more than a few minutes of the two parter ) ..we can be sure of nothing because we can't know what is really happening to Ten and what are dream sequences ..

I have to admit....I would love to see a TV show that the 100 % of it's viewers felt it was satisfactory.....

There is one. Its called Big Brother, although its debateable since that 100% consists of 4 viewers who actually bothered to share their opinion. Other viewers either switch off one minute in or deflate and lose their ability to show admiration or indeed any emotion.

Take a visit to the BB forum sometime. It's full of complaints about how bad the show is, how much it's gone downhill, etc.

I don't usually go around complaining about shows I don't watch, because its easy to ignore a TV show, even Big Brother...but its stupid extra shows replace Scrubs on E4

Aren't most of the BB complaints about the removal of the 24 hours a day live feed?

Sorry crazzyaz7, it would be rude not to reply, but I'll frame my answer in Whovian terms.

There's often one particular burning issue at any given time to enrage some fans, whether it's casting Catherine Tate/Matt Smith/Paterson Joseph, or bringing Rose Back, or too much snogging, etc. And those enraged fans will generally insist that whatever it is will be the death of the show. I'm sure that some time down the road, when they blow away the idea that the Doctor has only 13 "lives" with one line of technobabble dialogue instead of a four-part story where Sally Sparrow goes back into the Time War, resurrects the Time Lords and grants him a new cycle of regenerations there will be outraged people insisting that the show has lost all credibility and will suffer for it in the viewing figures.

And of course it won't. Because such things matter only to a tiny minority of the millions who watch a show. Even the most popular programmes owe most of their popularity to people not having something better to do at the time of transmission.

So right now it's about the live feeds. Next year, if BB is still around, it will be something else.

DT interview yesterday with Mo Ryan (from Chicago Tribune) -her twitter updates
Quote:
“
David Tennant on last DW eps "We managed to go out with some of the best scripts we've done in 4 years." Dr "on the run from the inevitable"
”

Aww he sounds very proud of the Christmas two parter -it all sounds so dark though -I hoped for spirit and energy not the Doctor running scared .. guess we'll just have to wait and see everything in context ..
I do think Ten will get to be the hero-hopefully .

David's last day was filming SJA ..

That he realises he is going to die - I got the impression from her comment that The Doctor knows it's going to happen awhile before it actually does.

Aww how sad -his scared face at the end of Planet of the dead gave hints of that -as I say all so dark goodness knows why .I seem to recall reading somewhere -maybe DW magazine that JG was in tears at the readthrough also .
That said..all these hints -i'm getting no spirit or energy of this wonderful character ..and I just can't believe David and RTD's time on the tv series will end that way ..Ten will get to be the spirited hero and clever timelord i'm sure of it .

But strip away the manic and bubbly exterior and you see that the Doctor is a dark and mysterious character. I think it's very fitting that his end is such.

We'll have to agree to differ to me -theres too much fragility and weakness in these dark hints from David and Julie I don't think thats how we'll see David and RTD leave the series.Hope not anyway .

I have to wonder whether the reason DT cried when reading his last script was because it turned out to be another overblown all style and no trousers finale.

"4 years and 'this' is what I get" *breaks down*
