Exactly. As I said my Oasis ticket for Sunderland turned up on the Saturday before the show. The show was on the Wednesday, luckily I was travelling up on the day and coming back to London on Friday, but I could just as easily have been travelling up on the Saturday and spending my entire week in the North East.
Suppose I'd phoned them up on Friday saying 'where are my tickets'?,and they say we've posted them out, they should be with you tomorrow. 'But that's no good as I'm leaving to travel to Sunderland tomorrow and the postman won't arrive until after I have to leave'. What then? Do they agree to issue duplicates to pick up at the venue,or do they say 'tough,we've posted them out to the address you gave us in time to arrive before the show,it's not our fault if you're not there to receive them'?
If they look at the orders and see that someone has ordered tickets for shows in Manchester/Sheffield/Newcastle/Glasgow/Dublin/wherever,and has given a delivery address in London or somewhere other than where the show is taking place,it's not hard to work out that the person will be travelling to the show. They should make allowances for people travelling into the area two or three days before a show takes place.
Back in 2003 I did the week of Springsteen shows,Monday and Tuesday in London,Thursday in Manchester and Saturday in Dublin. All four tickets were purchased from the same ticket agent. It would have been no good if they'd sent the Dublin ticket to arrive on the Wednesday as I was travelling up to Manchester Wednesday, then flying from Manchester to Dublin on Friday, and returning to London on Saturday,so how would I have got hold of the ticket?
