Mariah Carey - Anytime you need a friend.
Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror
Mariah Carey and Whitney Houstan - When you belive
Mariah Carey - Hero
Lenard Cohen - Hallelujah

Agreed.

Although, to be fair, he was always drowned out by the backing singers

U2- With Or Without You- it gets done too much both on X Factor and BGT and its bloody annoying because no one has or will ever do as good a job at it as Bono.

I know! It was first sung on a talent show by Will Young on Pop Idol - to great effect. But every show since has featured it. As they say - enough already!

They have killed all the songs performed. This program is just a glorified karaoke competition and should be scrapped.

Some fo these songs people are saying have only been sung once, most of them by Diana Vickers.

I liked Diana though, thought she was great.

Not X-Factor, but Will Young singing Light My Fire by The Doors has totally ruined my listening of it, I never listen to it now. It's not a favourite of mine from The Doors, so didn't listen to it a lot, but now I don't listen to it at all. All that comes into my head is Will Young with his terrible version of it on Pop Idol.

What's annoying is that they often destroy credible songs on such a non-credible show.

What's even worse is that people of today's chart buying generation (I'm only 25, easy now!) seem to think that these songs are the X-Factor reject's songs. It's a shame.

Bridge over troubled water? Might have been Popstars or Pop Idol or something though...
