An article in today's Daily Mirror, (sorry can't do links) reports that Bruce's fee for SCD is likely to be substantially reduced from the £900k he has received in previous years, could be anything up to a 50% cut.

The article doesn't mention the fees for Tess, the professionals or the celebrities.

It will be interesting to see if the cut does affect either the pro's or the celebs.

It should affect the judges too.

They shouldn't cut the fee for the professionals, they do all the work.

They could cut Tess's fee to £5 and she would still be overpaid!!!!

I wouldn't have thought the professionals' fees would be in question. It's the fees in excess of £100,000 that are in the spotlight at the moment - and I would wager Brucie's salary falls into that band. It's unlikely the pro's get paid that much.

As for the judges - three of them should get the boot anyway. Last year, they all showed a pathetic willingness to kowtow to the producers' demands and blatant favouritism which goes against the spirit of what the show is supposed to be about.

I'd even argue for Bruce to be kept on his existing salary if we could get rid of Arlene, Bruno and Len ...

I'd keep Bruno, just because he livens it up a little.

Craig is my favourite

We could have Anton Camilla and Karen as judges with Craig

and Erin can dance with Matt Cutler

problem solved

What's wrong with Erin's latin?

Besides wouldn't the rumba be the problem?

Do you mean Tess should pay only £5 to get into the show?

It's not Erin in particular, but Matt is the king of Jive and I wouldn't even put some of the other latin pros next to him! I thought the Jordans looked quite outclassed in the pro Jive last year.

Erin's Latin is terrible. Half the time I think she's being outdanced by her partner. Given that Matt is SOO good, it woul dbe an awful idea to pair Erin with Matt.

I wouldn't say her latin is terrible, that's a little harsh

Hayley's latin is weaker.

But when there are three latin specialists in Kristina, Karen and Ola they need balence.

Flavia and Lilia are all rounders with Flavia leaning towards ballroom and Lilia latin

Absolutely, and Erin's ballroom routines for strong celebs can't be beaten. But that doesn't mean she can dance latin to Matt's standard.

I think Erin and Matt in ballroom would be fab though- Matt's ballroom is also lovely and it was kind of wasted on Karen last year!

His ballroom is elegant

I think they'll be moving Ian more to ballroom and partnering him with Hayley meaning Matthew can do more Latin

I'm sure this shows up my lack of taste but I'd rather watch Matt dance ballroom than Anton.

I think it's fair to say though that Matt is far more of an all-rounder than Erin, so although his ballroom might be outclassed by a ballroom professional, it wouldn't be to the same extent that his latin outclasses Erin's.

I wish they would get rid of Arlene. She is so irritating. But I like Brucie and I hope he stays. I am sure he can afford a bit of a pay cut.

Poor old Brucie, a pay cut &, yet again, no knighthood in the Queen's birthday honours. He apparently does loads of charity work.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gives up SCD.

I agree with the point about no Knighthood. I can think of few more deserving. Its a disgrace.

I thought he got £420k, so if his pay is cut by 50% from £900k that will be a pay rise of £30k!
