Cameron Is The 90th Top Scot Of The Year.

From the 'Scotsman.com.'...

'The chart was compiled by The List magazine, and its editor, Nick Barley, admitted there was a number of surprise placings and omissions.

He said: "From every field there were people who did not make the list. We base it on what people have done of creative importance during the year, so a number of worthy candidates are ruled out, like Louise Welsh, whose novel, The Cutting Room, would have ensured her a place if it hadn’t been published in 2002."

More than 200 people were shortlisted by the 15 different section editors from The List, with the final 100 selected by a judging system based on points awarded according to three criteria: impact in their own fields; critical success, and originality. "But above all, nominees are judged on their creativity rather than financial success," said Mr Barley.

Frankie Poullain, the Milnathort-born member of The Darkness, is at number two for being "the coolest bassist in the world", while the actor Dougray Scott, who starred in Enigma, is at 94...........

Other well-known names include: Kelly MacDonald, who starred in State of Play, at 96; Robert Carlyle, who appeared in the Channel 4 two-parter Hitler: The Rise of Evil, at 35; Cameron Stout, the winner of Big Brother, at 90 .........'

Is Mr Barley suggesting that Shameron's performance was "creative", ie. not real in some way? Surely not!

Help, I am agreeing with Eejay.

He obviously had no impact in his own field by appearing on BB - unless fish traders now seek him out. He had no critical success as critics panned the show and he wasn't very original as Livingstone and Lauder had done it before. How did Cameron qualify to be on the list anyway? If it is really a list of popular Scotsmen surely he should be higher given his TV recognition factor as hardly anyone on this or any other planet could name 10 famous Scots.
