In Ireland many exhorbitantly paid state TV staff have been asked to accept swingeing pay cuts accross the board. The channel is facing insolvency.

I'd be happy with Gethin and Camilla hosting Strictly- or Bill Turnbull even if the Beeb want to go for an older male
Same. Bring on Series 7 if this happenes.

I really feel it would not be the same without Bruce and I defo don’t want Anton like this article is saying, I do kind of agree with the pay cuts because of the times we are in, but then again i don’t think anyone is going to be as good as Brucie. It actually says in this article there is nothing to worry about and he makes the same joke every year .

Hope so Bruce can stay, but Tess- NO! I can't remember which comedian was interviewing but I remember them asking one of the old contestants, "What was it like working with Tess Daley knowing that every time they looked at her she was dead behind the eyes!?"

To be fair Kay, he works one day but has to spend the preceding 6 days retrieving jokes from his 1940's locker.

No he doesn't! He only spends 4 days retrieving jokes,; he spends Sunday and Monday getting over Saturday!

It has to be said, on Alan Carr's chat show last night he gave no impression that he had the intention of leaving.

My vote would go to Brian Conolly, an all round entertainer, both on TV and the stage.

It is believed he could see his salary slashed from last year's £900,000 to £400,000 this year.

Insiders now fear that the 81-year-old will decide it is not worth his while carrying on with the heavy workload that the show involves.
If this report is true, I hope he doesn't come back. It's rather insulting to think £400,000 isn't enough to make it 'worth his while'. Sheesh, Bruce, live in the real world.

Carol Voderman was the same. She thought she was worth close to a million for her appearances on Countdown and Ch 4 fired her! Good decision, too.

I would have thought it perfectly obvious that this story in The Mirror is pure speculation.

So why launch premature and bitter attacks on Bruce Forsyth who has actually said....er....nothing?

In any case, I can't believe that things could have got so far into the year that there be a serious possibility that the presenter of the BBC's top show would pull out with just a litle over two months before the programme launches its next series.

He didn't say that and 'insider said it' - Bruce hasn't said anything.

I hope Brucre and Tess both return.

At least that knocks one rumour on the head!

When Sean Connery decided he would not play James Bond any more, a lot of customers said this was the end. Sean Connery was 007 and nobody could possibly step into his shoes.

But Roger Moore did (arriving with a CV including The Saint), albeit playing 007 with a different style, and most would say very successfully indeed. In the Stictly situation Brucie will not go quietly, and no-one has yet found a Roger Moore figure.

Arrgggghh but I hated Roger Moore as 007!

George Lazenby was OK, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan came close to Sean Connery and Daniel Craig is really Jason Bourne in a disguise!

Hugh Jackman should have been 007.

Helmet at the ready?

Sean Connery himself tried to make one comeback as 007, like a superannuated sendup of his former self. Alas nobody beats Grandfather Time, not even 007.

I saw it - Never Say Never Again (1983!) the remake of Thunderball - and my Mum yelled out loud in the cinema at the bit at the start before the credits when she thought he was going to be stabbed! LOL!

It was good entertainment almost a spoof really, but he couldn't have carried on.

Two classic quotes -

Therapist "I believe I'm having you in half an hour"

007 "Oh splendid. Your room or mine?"

and

Nurse holding specimen bottle one one side of the room when 007 is on the other "Fill this please."

007 "From here?"

Fabulous LOL!

PS I'm older than you think!

You won't get much older
if you say you hate Roger Moore without a hard hat on.
