Thanks for the heads up on this. I've pre-ordered the DVD set from Amazon.

I don't understand that - the Proms special was transmitted in HD.

Your right, Id forgotten that.

Hopefully it is a typo in either the BBC's released details or Play.coms write up.

**EDIT**

Amazon and Sendit also have it down as being in SD, oh dear.

It cant be an issue of space on the disc surely??

Could be - the HD highlights version transmitted last 1st January was 59 minutes, and the extended version was 1:34. Would make about 3-3.5 hours of HD content.

If it was up to me, mind you, I'd prefer the Proms to be in HD rather than a pointless upconversion of the Next Doctor that people's players or TVs will do nearly as well anyway.

Across the pond the release is 2nd February, even though End of Time Part 2 is being transmitted only a day later than in the UK.

Price is $43.99 at Amazon, $39.99 for DVD. (Yes, that does mean they're considerably cheaper in America)

Amazon.ca has the blu-ray at $52.49 CDN and the DVD at $43.99 CDN. Same release date as the USA. Considerably cheaper to purchase from the U.S. site!
