Hi All,

I finally tuned non-freesat on my new box delivered this week, and chopped all the dross to leave a handful of channels. Then worked out how to swap from Freesat to non-Freesat etc.

How do I go about recording these? Can it be done by timer?

I presume that you have found that you will have to reset all of your Freesat Timers which get deleted with a non-freesat scan?

The only way you can record in non-freesat mode, is manually. i.e. you need to be present, on the channel you want to record, at the time of the programme, and press the red Record button; pressing Record again gives you some control over the end time.

Edit : As long as you don't switch to non-freesat mode within 15mins of a Freesat recording, it will warn you when it wants to switch back to Freesat mode (and the default is to switch back if you miss the warning). If you switch back whilst also recording in non-freesat, it will of course no longer record the non-freesat prog.

You can't switch back to freesat mode if your making a recording in non-freesat mode.

Hi GC,

You are, of course, correct. I knew what I was trying to say, but made a hash of it

Thanks for jumping in.

Thanks guys - that clears that up for me. It is only likely to be BBC HD at the moment, so I can record unencrypted.
