A Good pepper mill needed
scorpiogran
12-06-2009
Help - I have had my 'Peter Piper' made in England kitchen pepper mill for over 30 years!! - and it's been used regularly during all that time. Well it finally died a couple of weeks ago and I looked on the web to see if by any chance they still existed but couldn't find them. I have a Cole & Mason one at the moment but I'm not impressed. Any advice on good reliable makes I could try. Thanks

grinds the pepper really well, and all you have to do is turn it upside down for it to start working.

My favourite xmas present this year

People tend to speak highly of the mills with a Peugeot mechanism, for what it's worth.

I have a cheap coffee grinder. Great for grinding toasted spices but I also use it for grinding my peppercorns in small amounts, and then just keep it in a small bowl next to the cooker, along with my sea salt in a salt pig.
Less farting about!

I have these:

The light is a nice addition! You can really see what's coming out on your plate.

I like course ground pepper and I have my grinders set accordingly. For that reason, I don't know how fine it will grind.

Also, I don't use salt so I have pepper in both--one on the table and one by the cooker. Look out for some nice colourful peppers too.
