How can i go about this, is it availabe free or anything using the data cable?

I could just go down to the shop but its closed now so rather than waiting thought i would ask on here.

When it comes to unlocking a phone, its always best to check with the Network or Service Provider that the phone maybe locked to first, especially if its still within the warranty period. Ask them if the warranty will become invalid if you choose to get it unlocked via a third party?

I beleive if it's locked to o2, they use a different version firmware, which would require a full firmware flash.
If memory serves me correctly o2 uses RED firmware while others use BROWN

Both my O2 K850i's were unlocked from new as well as My N95 and Xperia so worth checking it is actually locked before doing anything else.
