On another board - I saw 2 rumours -- Danny Gokey (3rd place finisher in most recent American Idol) and Donnie Osmond.

Donnie Osmond doesn't surprise me, but Danny Gokey? Isn't that scraping the barrel a bit?

In fact Donny is the only one we've mentioned that sounds remotely likely to me!

Never heard of Danny Gokey, but please please please not Donnie Osmond. Marie was enough Osmond, we don't need any more!

I was watching CNN last night and they were interviewing Lou Ferrigno about Michael Jackson (he had worked with him recently as a physical trainer, trying to get him in shape for his tour.) Lou actually said that he thought Michael was in pretty good shape and he looked pretty fit in photos taken two nights before he died - but I've digressed...

Anyway, Lou said he was doing Dancing with the Stars "next month" (or that he hoped to do it next month.) So I guess that's pretty definite. He's 80% deaf, so maybe it won't be as big a problem as it was for Marlee Matlin - I don't think she could hear the music at all which led to problems staying on the beat.

Reading on another board - I've become suspicious of that list. Although - I heard Lou Ferrigno myself saying he was at least hoping to be on the show - and it sounded more like he knew he was gonna be, so at least that one I'm pretty sure of.

Another male has announced he'll be on: 6'4" Ashley Hamilton, who's done at least some acting, but his main claim to fame is he's the son of George Hamilton and Alana Hamilton Stewart (Rod Stewart's ex)

Biggest reason for suspicion: Ice skater Johnny Weir has a packed schedule -- Two Grand Prix assignments (Russia and Japan) in October & November '09; if he makes the finals (very likely), it's in Dec '09; and that leads right up to the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, which he'll have to train heavily for. So there doesn't seem to be any way he could fit in DwtS, which begins in Sept/Oct and ends in Nov/Dec.

Having read your post, if he is planning on competing at the next Olympics I'd be very surprised if he going to be on the show.

Kurt Angle’s agent Dave Hawk recently spoke to The Sun in the UK about Kurt being shortlisted for the new season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.

“Its pretty simple, Kurt enjoys dancing and believe it or not he has the talent to do it,” Hawk said. "Just as Kurt has lightning speed, smooth, controlled and brilliant moves in pro-wrestling, this man can also dance. I had my first real glimpse of his dancing talent at my son's wedding about a year ago. I was really surprised as Kurt can really move. […] I believe with his athletic ability and charisma, he will be a very strong contender on this program."

Reading on Twop, they say Aaron Carter's a pretty likely contestant. He's about 6' and has had drug/alcohol problems in the past. Maybe Lacey will get him (she had the "Jackass" star who had just gotten out of rehab last season.)

Mark Ballas has twittered that he will definitely be on the show next season - and Maks is also very likely.

Kurt Angle is 5'10" and apparently has done some acting as well as pro "wrestling". Though he was an Olympic wrestler as well so maybe he's more legit than some on WWW or whatever it's called.

That's great news! Do you think that means Derek Hough will also come back as they are in a band together (or maybe even both Houghs)?

A poster at Twop says that Mark's been saying all along that he AND Derek will be back next season.

Actually, I think they're both still on contract and probably have no choice -- they're so popular over here, too. Two seasons in a row Derek has won an ABC online contest to pick "your favourite pro" (and dance and song etc.) Last year he and Julianne did a Jive (that's been nominated for an Emmy for choreography) and this season, he was picked again (with Julianne, Mark and Lacy, of all things, like there was a "tie" or something.)

Now ABC rigs everything anyway they want it - but I wouldn't be surprised if Derek and Mark were the tops. Mark's won two seasons and Derek won one. Plus the network loves "young" demos and those guys are nothing if not young (I think Derek's 23 and Mark is 22.)

Julianne I *think* will finally be given a season off -- and in the US they do 2 seasons per year, so she may not be gone long. She wanted last season off but they put her boyfriend on the show with her - which I don't think really "changed her mind" -- I think she's still on contract too and they made her do it.

Macy gray is apparently on the upcoming season as Carmit, the ex pussycat doll tweeted that she is helping her out with moves in preparation for the show so it sounds like Macy is a definite.

Am not a fan at all of this woman so wont be rooting for her i can say that.

There is a lot of speculation on Donny Osmond's fan site that he might be doing it.

He and Marie are doing a Las Vegas show at the moment(through until 2011 I believe) but just recently they have rescheduled shows due to take place on consecutive Tuesdays. Don't know what the importance of a Tuesday is, but the fans are trying to work out what he or she might be doing for the next few months.

Kelly Osbourne is doing it, apparently.

I wouldn't mind Donny Osmond, but don't fancy Kelly Osborne (a million times better that Sharon though) and I really doubt she's give up the time for DWTS.

I could imagine Macy Gray being quite gawky and I only know her from one of her songs 'I Try', which I hated at first, but sticks in your head.

The problem with Donny Osmond is the endless supply of other Osmonds that will appear every week, like they did with Marie!

Kelly Osbourne would probably be entertaining for about 5 minutes in a 'how long til she throws a strop?' kind of way. I also vaguely recall something about Macy Gray having temper issues back when she was in the charts.

I also think they are missing some 'eye candy' from the male celeb side......

I think I must be the only one who didn't mind Marie Osmond LOL!
