AppleCare for iPhone 3G worth it?
Hey,
I was wondering how many iPhone 3G owners opted for Apple Care at £59 and if they think its worth the cost? Gormond. |

I'm not 100% sure about this - but what I do know is when my iPhone 2G failed 3 weeks after purchase - o2 didn't want to know (as it was after 14 days) - I booked a slot at the Apple Store and they replaced it on the spot. Make of this what you like

I have AppleCare on both of my Macs and it's been brilliant for any problems i had.
Just looking it extends your warranty an extra year and also your telephone support to 2 years so i'd say it's definitely worth the money. |

You can buy it for any iPhone for up to a year from purchase (i.e. within the original warranty period). From Apple's own website: Quote:
Important Note If you buy it on the Apple website going through quidco first then you get 4% cashback, which recovers £2.36 from the £59. Small bonus but worth it for a couple of extra clicks.
The AppleCare Protection Plan can be purchased only while your iPhone is still covered under the standard one-year limited warranty. See AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions for complete product details. |

They charge delivery on insurance? That's a bit stingey of them... but i suppose it will come in an Apple branded letter.

You could also use eBay. I just did a search and you can get worldwide AppleCare for the iPhone for £26.73 Buy It Now with Free Shipping. I know a few people have used eBay to get cheap AppleCare and they got the full 3 years or whatever it is. Be cautious though, I am sure there are some scams out there but if the seller has good positive feedback then you shouldn't have problems.

I'm not sure about the iPhone - but in the case of a Mac they send you a booklet and a CD.

It's worldwide cover, so doesn't matter where it was purchased from.
