Oh dear God, the very thought if it makes my mouth water - in that 'I'm about to vomit' way.....

What exactly is Buckfast? I get that it's a red wine but is it cheap nasty or something? It's essentially a wine flavoured cheesecake then, so it doesn't sound too bad to me .

Its a fortified wine made by the monks of Buckfast Abbey and a particularly favourite tipple of the neds and nedettes in Airdrie and Coatbridge !

Its referred to as a tonic isn't it? and (unfortunately having had a rather mis-spent youth & therefore speaking from experience ) it's about as thick as undiluted Ribena.

Why would anyone need to keep a note of these things?

Have we to be tried at a later date for our crimes in cuisine???
