I'm looking at getting an iPhone soon. I currently have an iPod 32gb. I'm not planning on putting music onto the iPhone. Just wondering if anyone has an iPod and iPhone and if having both set up in iTunes causes any problems?

Why would you want to hook the iPhone up to iTunes if you don't plan to put music on it?
Or would it be for another reason?

Because he probably wants to put apps on it from the app store as well as contacts, email, pictures.... not to mention be able to get the latest OS updates.

To answer the opps question it wont cause any problems, I have an iPod and iPhone and have never had an issue, just shows up as 2 devices connected to it.

My iPhone has mainly apps and podcasts on it. Music definitely takes second place in my personal case (although I do have some it's not a main priority for me).

Just set iTunes to manually manage music, in that case you can sync apps and movies and pictures if you wish without adding music, I use my iPhone, my daughter's Touch and my Mrs Nano on the same iTunes account, no problems at all.
