I think entries should pre-date the CD era, due to the greater visual impact conferred by the extra surface inchage of vinyl. To this end the Human League's Reproduction, with stiletto-heeled legs stomping over several naked babies on one of those different-coloured-lights 70s dancefloors, isn't particularly endearing.

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King.

Weird but very very cool. Love it.

Hate to say this given my username but most of Marillion's album covers during the Fish period were pretty weird or freaky (sorry boys)

The Beatles - Yesterday and Today 'butcher' sleeve must have been shocking in the 60s when first released ; http://bigpicture.typepad.com/writin...es/butcher.jpg

The front cover isn't as strange as some of the inside images, and the covers for the singles. Such as Earth Intruders and Wanderlust.

Especially this one:

By the time of Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws I think their album covers, like their music, were becoming more mainstream.

Some really bizarre ones here. Ventriloquist dummies, elephants with wigs (!) and Kevin Rowland in a dress? Yikes!

I think that Youthanasia by Megadeth has a pretty weird cover.

Indeed! 'Songs for Gay Dogs' and 'Back To The S***'...errrr, OK!

And as well as a Handless Organist there's a Fingerless Fiddler! Wonder did they ever collaborate? I really shouldn't laugh but I can't help it!
