David Guetta Feat. Kelly Rowland VS. Airi L - When Love Takes Over
BigDuck

As there are now two versions of the song (one being a cover) I was just wondering which version everyone prefers:

David Guetta or Airi L?

Personally I actually like the Airi L version better, they're very similar but, but Airi L seems more dancey to me.

Kelly Rowland for me. Something about Airi L's voice just doesn't seem right. I think she sounds kinda flat.

I have to agree Airi's vocals aren't as strong, but I like the beat better.

Yes, it is #1 in the download chart. Will most probably be #1 in the singles chart next week as well.

I prefer the DG/KR version. The other doesn't sound right.

according to the Radio 1 chart page it doesn't feature in the download chart, let alone the top 40 and the official charts page hasn't updated yet???

There's no link to the other version at the moment, you can hear a snippet on iTunes or listen to the Radio 1 Top 40 to listen to it. It charted at number 22.

The thing is I don't think it was ever intended to be a hit as normally this record label just releases high NRG dance workout covers of other songs. For example Airi L also has a cover of "Single Ladies" on iTunes, but it's like a dancier version.

The reason it didn't make number one this week is because people has been buying the Airi L version instead of the DG one, because the DG one hadn't been released yet. But the DG one was rush released on wednesday to try stop this other version getting all the sales.

DG charted at 7 this week. So to clarify:

Airi L - No. 22
DG - No. 7

The DG/KR version rocks - aided massively, it has to be said, by Kelly's vocals which are vastly superior to anything you normally hear on a dance track.

This has all the makings of a genuine summer anthem - fingers crossed this boots the appallingly generic Pixie Lott off the top of the singles chart.

Yeah I think Kelly's vocals are what makes the song stand out from other dance songs. She's a cert for no.1 according to the music section here on DS

I was really covinced that Kelly Rowland is singing "Winner takes over!" I know she's not now, but I still can't help but think that she's singing "winner..." when she is not.

Love Kelly Rowland, and I think this is a great track. Definitely deserves #1.

Kelly Rowland is one of my favourite people in entertainment, she always comes across as so down to earth and happy to do anything to entertain and I absolutely love this track!

I love the track just builds and builds and is just amazing.

I hope she gets a number one, definitely some of her best vocals, possibly since Stole.

Also some parts of it reminds me of No Air by Jordin Sparks. Don't know why but it just does lol
