Calling a roaming mobile

My Dad is currently in Spain - if I ring/text his voda mobile from my Orange contract will it come out of my inclusive minutes and texts, or would I be charged extra? Bearing in mind I'm still calling/texting a UK mobile number (starting 07) which the bundle would normally cover when he's in the UK.

You pay the same as usual.

What happens if you weren't to know someone you were calling was roaming, do you think it fair that you get charged more when you didn't know they were abroad?

The way it works is you pay the usual rate whether that is inclusive if you have inclusive minutes or your regular rate. It the the person roaming abroad who picks up the difference, and as he is one Vodafone if he has the Vodafone Passport, currently it costs him nothing to receive calls (doesn't cost to receive texts anyway).

So whether the phone is in the UK, Spain, Italy, France, USA, Australia etc etc you pay your usual rate.

Not fair, but it wouldn't have surprised me if I ended up being charged extra

I'm pretty sure you used to have been changed extra to call/text a roaming mobile, but that was probably years and years ago now, so just checking. AFAIK my Dad turned on passport before he left.
