Now I know I'm probably to old to "get her" but what's so great. Her song came on today on telly and thought it was the Saturdays til I realised there was only one of her

I thought it was that Duffy woman until they called her Pixie Lott.
There's loads of random female singers coming out recently, one called Little Boots, another one but the name escapes me. I can't tell them apart, they all sound the same to me

She's better than most British girl pop singers, of that I'm sure. She just needs some great songs to match.

The fact that she's stormed to the top of the UK Singles Chart with her debut single shows that a lot of people do 'get her', including me!

We all have different tastes and personally I've never really understood why Cheryl Cole is so popular. She can't sing live at all! Pixie Lott, on the other hand, gave a sterling performance on Graham Norton's Totally Saturday.

She's got a good voice, and I like the song. But then I've never been the sort of person to judge an artist/band based on one song alone.

I'm really confused cos I like the song, it's catchy BUT I really don't understand why it's at number 1 surley thats overating it slightly?

but then saying that it is better than quite alot of rubbish that seems to make number 1 these days.

Bob The Builder and Mr Blobby also stormed to the top of the UK Charts

Leave Pixie alone, she has been working since she was a kid to achieve her dreams so she deserves all the success in the world. I know her and i know she has enough talent to sink a ship

I'm sure people can differentiate between novelty tracks and serious music though. If you're suggesting that she's going to be a one-hit wonder then we'll have to see but somehow I doubt it. There aren't many artists out there who have such impressive song-writing ability combined with a great voice.

There's a thread on buzzjack about pixie lott.

Someone has posted a photo of her and she looks nothing like what she does in the video!!

I just don't get it. Its nothing new or exciting. I don't care if she's spent years working on her album, in hindsight that doesn't make a difference to whether something's good or not.

Song is extremely average but her voice is good if she can work on not trying to sound so affected and like Amy/Duffy/Adele.
