Pixie Lott was interviewed on GMTV a few weeks ago and spoke about how she was discovered at the age of 14 when she replied to an advert in the 'The Stage' magazine, looking for the next diva. She said that for the past few years she's been working flat out on her debut album, working in America with big producers who have done songs for Lady GaGa etc. Here's the interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBjXKgPW3s8

That interview was the first time I'd actually seen her properly and I knew I recognised her from somewhere. I then found this video of her on YouTube and discovered that she had auditioned for Britannia High which aired on ITV not too long ago. Here is her audition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTXo9YrlHVY Britannia High didn't exactly set the world on fire, but it was expected to be HUGE as Gary Barlow wrote all the songs and the show was created by Arlene Phillips and David Ian. Pixie auditioned for one of the six main parts in the show, and the auditions went on for months and months last year. There was even a two part programme that aired on ITV all about the auditions alone. What I don't understand, is why, if she was working with all these huge producers and big names over in the U.S, did she decide to audition for a singing and dancing show on ITV?!! It was only last year as well. It all seems a bit strange. Alexandra Burke is currently over in the U.S working with lots of big names. Imagine if she decided to give it all up and come back here and audition for something like Britannia High. She'd be bloody nuts! I just don't think this whole story of Pixie being in the U.S and working on her debut album for the past few years rings true.

You're too smart to be living here. This is the nonsense that most people believe - totally made up by the record companies.
However. this time I don't think many people have bought into it and I have no idea how the song charted as I have never heard anyone talk about this song let alone mention it was good.
Allegedly one of the downloads on i tunes counted as 5 singles - sounds like a lot of dodgy dealing went on behind the scenes.

I happen to know Pixie Lott, she is a family friend and i can promise you she has been working for years to get to where she is now.
When we were all spending our summer holidays playing and doing fun things she was practising her music or doing school work she missed whilst going to auditions. she worked every single weekend to get great dance grades etc....

She has been working for years and she deserves all the success she gets and more.

so keep your jealous and nasty comments to yourself!

The fact that you know her means you have a clouded judgement on everything.

Master Ozzy has pointed out some very interesting things. It just proves how much record companies lie and manipulate. I bet Pixie was plucked from a talent school to sing songs other people had already written.

As for people saying she has an amazing voice, she may have a nice tone, but technically she's not a very good singer at all.

On the GMTV performance there is many times when she strays out of tune or misses notes. So i don't agree with her being an amazing singer at all.

I also have no desire what so ever to see her bum, it seems her shorts are getting shorter by the day. If it's about music, then why the need to flaunt yourself?

.

You DO know the concept of pop music, yes? Pixie is a pop artist and you've got to work extremely hard to make it in that area, regardless of how it may look sometimes. She's obviously been training for this for years, building up till she was a little older so her voice could mature and she could better handle everything. This all makes a great deal of sense and there's nothing fake or wrong about it.

I hope we see a great deal more of her in the next couple of years.

I did hear about that and wondered why she would audition for something like that if she is working on her album? It wasn't even that long ago either - would have been the beginning of last year she would have auditioned. It bombed anyway so it's probably a good thing she didn't get on the show!

Well come on. A bit of research would get you far.

She went to Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She is a trained stage school kid, so yes, she has been working for years to get where she is, by virtue of the kind of schooling she went into. She isn't a talent thats been plucked out of nowhere, she has been developed and polished for years. Including playing parts in the West End production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,

Do I hold it against her? Nope. Shes got a good voice, and has been polished heavily by her people.

Regardless she has been signed to a record company for at least three years now.

Yes, but in the GMTV clip she states that she's been in America working on her album for the past few years. So she's been playing parts in West End productions, going through the Britannia High auditions (which lasted a LONG time...there was even a programme documenting them) etc and also recording an album in America? I'm sorry, but no way! Britannia High was supposed to have been a huge thing (obviously it bombed though) and was only last year. What would have happened if she had got the part then? I think her recording this album was a lot more recent than we are being lead to believe. As someone else said, it just goes to show how much record companies try to manipulate us.
