Queenofsnow

My cat Kupo was killed last night by two dogs Me and my husband looked out the window and saw them attacking a cat so we ran out to chase them off but by the time we got there it was too late he was already gone I'm just devastated and have been awake crying all night, I don't know how to cope and I'm worried about being too stressed as I'm pregnant and have already had 3 misscarraiges What can I do to grieve?.

Thank you for listening

Ah, you poor thing. I really feel for you. I don't know if there is anything I can say to help you. Just know that whatever you're feeling at the moment is entirely natural. When I lost one of my cats quite suddenly I went and told my hospital doctor (I had health problems), and to my surprise he really understood. Just find people around you who you can share your feelings with. All the best.

I'm so sorry to hear that, it must have been awful

How come the dogs were able to attack him, were they off lead, left unattended, was their owner there? Reason I ask is because they sound dangerous to other animals and maybe even people!

I don't really know how to help, it's a terrible thing to lose a pet, especialaly so tragically. The thing I will say is don't try to bottle it up because that is probably worse (for the baby and you!). Cry if you need to, talk about it with your husband, and try and remember him in good ways. I hope it gets better for you, and good luck with the baby, please try not to worry too much.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, Klara. If it's any consolation, the cat probably passed out and didn't feel anything. How horrible for you both - the owners of those dogs ought to be ashamed Try to find out who they belong to - they should know what their dogs are doing.

I hope your pregnancy goes well - try not to worry too much - I remember reading somewhere that stress levels don't have as huge an impact on conception/pregnancy as was first thought. Try to not worry - tough I know.

Would be devastated if anything like that happened to my cat - so I really feel for you. Heartbreaking. Its good that you are getting support from here and having a cry.

Be really gentle with yourself and your precious cargo! Not sure if you work etc but why not just take it really easy for a few days until you really feel stronger and a bit more able to cope with life again. Dont push yourself or make any demands on yourself.

That's absolutely awful. It's bad enough when a pet dies anyway, but to die like that. Horrendous. Poor you.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss Klara. What an awful thing to happen, I can only imagine how you must be feeling.

As others have said, the best way to grieve is to talk to others about how you're feeling. I'm sure your husband must be upset too, do you have a mutual close friend who you could talk to?

Please take care and look after yourself,

DC

RIP Kupo

just like cat owners when their precious pets are wiping out all the wildlife.

Thank you all very much for your replies I really wasn't expecting so many responces I was going to check the thread yesterday but I knew I couldn't handle it so I'm sorry if anyone thinks me rude for just posting and leaving

This is my 3rd sleepless night night in a row now, I can't sleep unless I'm exhausted because things just keep playing over and over in my head I'm feeling a little better today, but I know it's really going to take some time before I can talk about it properly.

All your kind remarks have made me feel a little better too so thank you

The owners were in the same street when it happened, they had let the dogs off their leads and after just put the leads back on the dogs and walked away as if nothing had happened I don't know who they are or where they live but my husband is trying to find out, hopefully we will find out where they live to stop this from happening again.
We also contacted the R.S.P.C.A but they can't do anything because we don't know where these disgudting people live

Anyway we burried Kupo with his favourite toy, I just miss him so much already it's just so painful

Thank you to anyone who cares enough to read this,

I am so, so sorry for your terrible loss. What a truly horrible thing to have witnessed, I can not think of anything more worse or upsetting, especially as I own two cats and love them both dearly. My deepest sympathy for you. xx
