What makes Girls Aloud great is their songwriters. Take the songs away, and there's not much left. Also, exchange any other 5 reasonably good singers, reasonably good looking women, for them, give the new group the same songs, they would sell just as well. Only Cheryl is exceptional, and only in the looks department, not as a singer.

My sentiments exactly. Although, I must agree with the post concerning the songwriters. Some of what Girls Aloud have recorded sound like white Motown, and that when it's done well, is dynamite.

Also, I must give the girls credit for their work ethic, and for keeping their individual egos in control. Together, it works, apart, not much.

I gotta say its nice to see good things being said about Nicola. She used to (not so much now tho) get a hard time from a lot of people being referred to the "least talented", the "ugly one" or the "grumpy one". I've always liked her and she has always been my favourite and plus she's from my neck of the woods me being originally from Liverpool - Yay Nicola!
