Advice on how to prepare carrots to prevent you from getting cancer:

No, no, no, NO, NOO!! What are they doing in the picture? Is the carrot not supposed to be peeled before slicing? And are they aiming to prepare discs or cubettes? Are they doing straight slices or angled? And slicing on a PLATE???

No consistency....IT'S A MESS!!!

Perhaps they're going for the roughly chopped, rustic look?
The angle of that knife is all wrong though. She clearly needs an hour with Gordon Ramsay.

Keep your hair on. They're just making a chopped carrot medley for variety. You don't have to peel carrots. Chopping board is preferable but plate slicing has not yet been banned and if the plate was already being used then it saves on washing up to not use the board unnecessarily. It's all fine.

I don't peel carrots or potatoes, although of course I wash them thoroughly.

The roughage is in the skin and most of the nutrition lies just below the surface according to what I've been told.

Surely if you slice or chop the carrots after cooking, they'll be cold before you manage to eat them?

Me neither. Unless I absolutely have to, that is. Mashed potato or carrot usually calls for a bit of peelage.

Whole unpeeled carrots popped into a slow cooked pot-roast are delicious. They absorb the flavour of the beef.

Are those of you who don't peel eating organic carrots? Because I remember hearing (although I don't remember where) that non-organic carrots need to be peeled because the majority of the insecticides used in regular farming accumulate in the skin - and that just washing them doesn't get rid of it because it becomes part of the skin's structure

I thought it was the top of the carrot? You should cut at least 2cm off?
