for me it has to be "the stereophonics" one of the most consistent bands around. probably the best voice aswell. obviouslly imo

Blur. now that they're back together they count, right? As much as I like Oasis, they were obviously the better musicians. You only have to listen to The Universal to work that out. or Chemical World.

Failing that, Arctic Monkeys. They're hyped all over the place, but some of it is justified. Alex Turner is probably as good a Ray Davis as my generation is likely to get frankly.

Extremely close behind would be Radiohead.

Noisettes, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, Take That and Coldplay. La Roux are a group aren't they?

I wouldn't count La Roux unless you've heard the album. Its albums that make artists great, not just a few songs, also the Noisettes first album was better, now they just sound like everything else.

Bloc Party by a long shot for me.

Followed by The Prodigy (do they count as a band though?), Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz
