Looking after our family cat for a few weeks

Ive recently brought my cat up from home for 3 weeks due to my parents going on holiday. Shes about 15 and naturally is still a little freaked out by the new surroundings. Shes adapted well to using the litter tray (shes an outdoors cat when at home) and eats and things, shes even happy to sit on the bed in one of the bedrooms or on one of the chairs but when she gets on the floor she does the 'im terrified of EVERYTHING' thing and walks around really slowly getting quite freaked out. Overall shes ok, I just dont want her stressed.

Any tips on helping her settle? Shes a timid cat naturally but she literally is only happy on the bed, by her food or on the chair lol.

I think she's probably still a bit unsure of her surroundings at the moment. Maybe you could bring something from her home that has a familier smell? If not, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure in a day or two she'll settle in fine

Yeah thats true. Shes ok...happy enough to sit and be stroked or lie in the hallway...it just seems to be the kitchen shes wierd about. Probably just the smells....ah well. HOpefully she'll be fine! Good luck with your little one by the way....ours disappeared for 3 weeks and randomly appeared one day and was right as rain. Ive heard about them doing that alot....never worry!

Thanks Hope all goes well with yours too. It sounds like she's happy enough and I bet by the time she has to go home she'll be already well settled in!
