Torchwood S3 - CONFIRMED DATES

Looks like it will be 6th - 10th July, as the BBC is now listing it under "Unplaced Programmes" for week 27 (4th-10th July).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pro...ced_torchwood1

And I have not known a situation where a programme has been listed on that page (for a specific week) but has then been shown at a later date.

According to EveMylesFans on Twitter, 6th July is rumoured but it is due to be confirmed today.

Well, as I said, in my experience I have never known a programme to be rescheduled after being listed on Programme Information, even if it is "unplaced" (which normally means that its exact date/time in the week in question has yet to be officially announced).

Torchwood Radio plays on 1st/2nd/3rd and then COE on 6th -10th July.

I think the new TW books are released about then as well. Going to overdose on the Torchwood goodness!!

You're not going to get any more official that the BBC Press Office - they'll lock in the date and times too probably this time next week (although I'd put money it's Mon-Fri at 9pm )

Agreed - although the opening ep of something quite recently (can't remember what) changed to the following week at the last moment... Bugging me now, can't remember what it was!! It's quite rare for it to happen though.

Actually looking more like a Sunday-Thursday screening at 9pm. There's no programme noted for Sunday at 9pm, but "Hotel Babylon" is confirmed as 9pm Friday.

"The Old Guys" got pulled forward a week earlier in the year after having 'confirmed' dates published.

As has been said though, it is very rare.

I'm also hoping BBC Scotland don't eff this up here - we currently get "Holby City" in the Monday 9pm slot (where everyone else gets a "New Tricks" repeat I think) as it's network slot here is taken by "River City".

At least they won't dump it for footy this time of year ...

If the BBC don't want to take Hotel Babylon off for a week, it will be Sunday to Thursday.

I can't believe we're actually just 2 and a half weeks away then, after waiting months and months and months.

Actually the men's Wimbledon FINAL is on Sunday 5th, so I think we're looking at Monday.

That's in the schedule too, just like "Hotel Babylon", with the former notably switching to BBC Two at 5pm anyway.

Expect this and/or "Top Gear" to be shunted in your scenario.

If Wimbeldon over-runs - which it sometimes does - will it be finished by 9pm, as I can't see the BBC wanting to put COE up against it.

Some matches don't start till early evening, then there's delays for rain etc..
Several times in the past BBC1 have extended Wimbledon to 21:30 - 21:45

I can't see them delaying Torchwood past 9:15, they'll probably move on or the other to BBC 2 if they have to some nights.

Preferably Wimbeldon as it'd probably suffer less of a ratings drop if moved than Torchwood would.

Plus this series is crucial to the future of the show and it won't be off to much of a good start in it's new home if it's shunted on the first night.

No delays for rain in new centre court, which will speed the whole tournament (as will the lights).

Looks like the men's final is expected/scheduled from 2pm-5.30pm. I really think this talk is 'worst-case-scenario'. And if it's the final (and Murray is in it, which is, I think something being assumed here) it will go on BBC One and TW will be posponed.

It would be great if it was postponed and ran long past the 5:30 finish but finished dead on 9 o'clock ready for Children Of Earth giving Torchwood a nice lead in .

The BBC must be very confident that Wimbeldon won't over-run too long, otherwise they simply wouldn't have scheduled COE for that week. With COE being a 5-night thing, it wouldn't be that easy to re-schedule.

havent they now put a roof on the centre court? so any rain and it closes. I guess they wont care about the outside courts as much

Wimbledon would only really over-run into the Monday afternoon, and now with the new Centre Court roof, there is even less of a chance of interruptions there (and therefore less of a potential, backlog). And if it's towards the end of the tournament, the Finals matches will all be Centre Court ones anyway.

So 2 1/2 weeks till Torchwood!

Looking forward to it but am dissappointed that the BBC have not repeated S2 on BBC1 to drum up some interest.

I have a horrible feeling that this is going to flop big time in terms of BBC1 ratings - which they may use as an excuse to cancel the series.
