I doubt that will happen. If it flops in terms of BBC1 ratings (which I dont think it will) then I think they will most likely just put it back on BBC2.

It is so comforting that people are already willing to pass judgement upon a series that hasn't even aired.

What's the likelihood of being able to catch the next episode straight after on BBC Three? (I for one will be watching and recording it in HD - oh happy, happy days!!)

I seriously doubt that that will happen i'm sure i was reading something last year about how an episode of the 2nd series had more viewers then doctor who had, hence the reason for the move from BBC3 to BBC2 to BBC1 so fast. So happy now wooohooooo just 2 1/2 weeks to go

I notice that at http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2009/wk27/ it is now the main highlight listed for the week with a picture and everything

Shit shit shit, i'm busy doing performances all night on the 7th (also my birthday) and the 10th >.< I really hope they don't air it on the 10th, because then at least i'd only have missed one, granted I can watch it on iplayer, but the TV screen is more exciting!

No bets required as it would say on the Press Office site.

As I recall, it doesn't.

The BBC want Children of Earth to be 'event television' on BBC1, so there's no BBC 3 showings.

[b]Even though I'm in the USA now and don't get to see it when y'all do, sounds like I won't have long to wait as it should be playing on July 20th...so not to long after y'all![b]

Assuming that this is a comment on my post I would like to thank you for your flippant response.

I did not pass any judgement on the series - I like the programme and want it to do well - I just think because of its scheduling it may not do as well as I want it to. Pardon me for having an opinion.

It was, and it was all too serious actually.

Well, pardon me for having the temerity to even question your post:

Which to me looks like judgement on the series.

Perhaps a more laid-back, and chilled outlook perhaps? But then again, you are likely to tell me not to advise you how to live your life.

Wake up and smell the coffee! This is a forum, whre people are allowed to have an opinion. If you don't like it, just don't post.

Great news that TW is on in only a fortnight!

Anyone noticed in the small print it says episode 1/5.

Is it possible that it's no longer going to be shown on consecutive nights but one episode a week for five weeks?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pro...ced_torchwood1

Also if you read the press pack dated 15th June 2009 it says

"In one epic story, told over five episodes, the new series promises to be Torchwood's greatest adrenalin-fuelled, high-octane adventure to date. As they battle against the odds, do they stand a chance of saving humankind?"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pre...orchwood.shtml

Doesn't say anything about five consecutive days.

Well I don't think you need worry -that trailer where Gwen speaks of the Doctor is stunning -will get the viewers hooked imo .

Agreed - although the opening ep of something quite recently (can't remember what) changed to the following week at the last moment... Bugging me now, can't remember what it was!! It's quite rare for it to happen though.”

Hope Springs also got pushed back a week after appearing in the press pack, but that was because BBC1 moved The Apprentice final to Sunday late in the day to avoid a clash with the England v Andorra football match.

I reckon it should have been
31st May & June 7th (Sundays)
8.00 Hope Springs
9.00 Living With Monkeys

but The Apprentice was moved to June 7th, so part 1 of LWM was replaced by a repeat of George Gently which at 90 minutes long started at 8.30 so they postponed HS for a week. ( I bored myself there.)

Obviously nothing like that will happen with Torchwood.

yes it should be noted that only 4 of the 5 slots, Monday - Thursday are actually free.

Hotel Babylon is scheduled for Friday night, and worth noting that Casualty 1909 is scheduled for Sunday night as well, so I am unsure when this 5th & final episode to air.

It wasn't there when I last looked at the schedule. I specifically checked for something being published for that slot, after HB appeared to be extant on Friday.

(Saying that though, C1909 also doesn't appear in the previous 2 weeks' schedules either, but is listed in RT for this weekend, which is one of those)

Whatever, either HB or C1909 has to stand down for a 5 day consecutive run, which it surely is as TW is given pride of place in that week's schedule (and I fully expect a Radio Times cover).

C1909 it is never on the BBC Pi but it is on Digiguide (as normal)

way I see it Hotel Babylon or Casualty 1909 has to not air that week, the 10pm news means they can not really do a double bill on Monday or Thursday

They're both standalone episode formats (I think) so either could,

Just surprised the BBC didn't go for last week (as was expected) when there was a natural break (both C1909 and HB started then instead).

Anyone any idea why they avoided that? ITV only had 3 documentaries, "Ladette to Lady" and a "Doc Martin" repeat competing in the 9pm slot. The only reason I can think of is that BBC America thought that too far ahead of their advertised broadcast.

yes I made a post in a Doctor Who forum suggesting it would be last week, when, Ashes to Ashes, HIGNFY & something else had ended, I guess they wanted to show the 4 part Occupation first, which actually would have helped the sitituion, when they really should have shown Torchwood first, and then Occupation / 1st episode of Hotel Babylon

"The Apprentice" was initially planned to end that Wednesday too.
