With the roof on centre court now it makes over-running less likely as there shouldn't be rain delays for the main matches.

Unless it rains so quick they don't have time to deploy the roof - unlikely though I admit. Pessimistic thinking.

Firstly, they still have the manual covers I believe.

Secondly, a sense of perspective:

a) There has been no rain in the first week, therefore no delays, no backlogs at all

b) The centre Court has a room which can be deployed, thus reducing the likely backlogs in the event of rain.

c) The forecast for the South East for the week is largely settled, with heatwave warnings.

d) The Men's Final is scheduled for Sunday anyway, so even if there was any sizeable backlog in the 2nd week (which, given the "heatwave forecast", is unlikely), it is probable that we would see the Men's final played on the Monday starting at 12 or 2pm. Any remaining Final matches to be played would follow (doubles, mixed etc) afterwards and would be unlikely to carry on until 9pm that evening.

e) Even if there was late play in other matches AND the BBC elected to cover it, they still have BBC2 (and of course those matches will not have the level of generic interest that a Men's Final has).

In short, Torchwood is safe.

People who have already seen episode 1 say that they hardly thought about Owen and Tosh at all, partly because the story was good enough to keep their attention and partly because the chemistry between Jack, Gwen and Ianto has stepped up.

Doctor Who: The Stolen Earth/Journey's End gave us a taste of that.
