I am putting this in a new thread as I don't want it to get lost in the other TW threads....but sorry if you think I should have done.....

I think it answers a question that many on here wonder when big events seem to happen in the spin offs...and the mother show....well kind of....it gives a point of view at least

There are some spoilers on that page too, underneath the trailer...so don't scroll down if you don't want to know....

the funny thing is that when the last trailer got out and about...and some people used that little bit with Gwen about how another big world coming to an end thing is happening and yet we don't see no proper mention of it in the other shows.....and how that annoys some people......

Its almost Like RTD knew that is what some people were thinking!!!!!!!!!

If you want to be totally unspoiled, I'd say no.

Don't forget the 2 minute trailer on the official website, if anyone hasn't seen it.

Great trailer, loved it, thanks for the link.

Just the mention of the Doctor in that trailer should get a few extra bums on seats.

And just why doesn't the Doctor show up at the end of the world?.........or does he

He won't.

COE has been given a certificate of '15' and they'll be no family edit, like with series 2. RTD has said that he'll never cross that line. Also, young children won't be allowed to stay up until 10pm, especially when they're at school the next day.

Well it looks like we are all doomed then.

Except weren't they introduced to each other in "The Stolen Earth"? The trailer implies it's just someone Jack mentions.

Squee!

Best. trailer. ever.

I got goose pimples at the mentions of the doctor and that closing line "so you can see how the world ended" - BRILLIANT!

Bring on July!

She's spoken too him fleetingly she didn't really learn much about him, not much more than what she'd have seen on the news regarding the christmas star or the titanic spaceship etcetera.

Anyway.

"back in the old days"

She could be referring to when she first joined or this could be set before then. I know Torchwood is *usually* set a few months following the previous series of the main show but this isn't a *usual* series is it?

Either way, still very exciting.

She says that she always wanted to ask Jack back in the old days about why his Doctor didn't turn up sometimes.....I guess she is talking about before she met him.....maybe after she met him, she didn't bother asking the question as she saw him save the world in JE....but now....whatever has happend in COE, has probably shown her why the Doctor doesn't sometimes show up.....although I don't agree with her....I just think the Tardis doesn't bother to bring him at that point in time!!!

It is something I have wondered though, where is the Doctor, why wouldn't he have turned up!? So it's clever of TW to address that, plus as others have said, it should draw more viewers in too, which will be good news for a series 4.

After all the fuss created by the Ross/Brand affair, I don't think putting a children's character in a show that won't finish until 10pm would be one of the BBC's best ideas.
