Maybe this sounds a little petty

But theres this guy on youtube postings hundreds of songs which are technically illegal. Their not official released versions and im aware of how he got them.......but i dont think its fair that they get put up online like that. From what im aware and what hes boasted is that his Youtube channel has been closed due to EMI and Universal Music and has had 2 strikes from youtube. He then makes a video talking about this and lets everyone know that hes just created a new youtube account and gives everyone the link to it!!!! The silly thing is the name is the exact same as his current one except hes added a number at the end.

Now like i said these arent typical songs that you get with CDs. They are instrumental versions, sometimes acapellas and im aware of how he gets them. Its just a small group of us which trade music between each other and help each other out but none of us ever give anything away. Never once im life have i ever uploaded anything online and im a big collector myself. Im fortunate enough to recieve a lot of rare items and test pressings of tracks etc. The way it stands right now ive not shared anything for close to a year but i still look and watch. Everyday hes there, hes made 6 posts in the past hour and just taking anything and everything. Over 40 videos uploaded to his youtube account today. Its literallly hundreds of songs that just shouldnt be there and it spoils the fun for people that do collect.

Am i petty for even thinking of complaining to youtube or one of the music companies? I wouldnt even know how to go about complaining lol. Im just scunnered that i cant even talk to people i used to about music. Its not even a big thing for most music fans. Most people couldnt care about instrumentals of songs or remixing or multitracks but its a pretty big thing in the music industry. They dont take kindly to them being leaked out unless they specifically released them. It might sound boring to a lot of people but to people like me its exciting, and your trading with people, and its fun and you do it because you personally enjoy the music. I myself am currently trying to do a lot of music production on my own and send my own demo material out so i can appreciate the work that goes into making music.

Just seeing someone give away tracks that many of us took years to get, and just be so smug and boast about it just makes my blood boil. Hes still doing it now. Even in his videos hes just so smug, doesnt even look at the camera when hes talking and you get the feeling he couldnt even care less. Its like a little kid whos parents can afford the best toys and bragging to the other kids whos parents cant afford them. Not even bothering to play with them or even care but just likes to show it off for the sake of having it.

I've got hundreds of them at home

Record companies send them to the radio station all the time, they'd just get binned if I didn't have them - shame really

Clearly the person in question has little or no life, he seems to spend an awful lot of time trying to upload this stuff to YouTube
