If you get the timings right then you could par boil potatoes, start cooking the duck until you get enough fat out of it to roast the potatoes in.

I bought a whole duck for half price today quite a bargain. If I hadn't bought it and it ended up in the bin - then it really would have died in vain.

Most of the farmed animals in countries with decent welfare standards are probably treated better than the dregs of society. I'm sure there are homeless people or people living in slums that would love the life of a free range chicken

OP, that sounds delish! I love duck, it's one of my favourite dishes. Did you do it the aromatic duck way or crispy duck way? Crispy duck is definitely one of my fave dishes for a dinner party, normally served with other Chinese recipes passed on to me by my mum.
